Single Slam: Electric Callboy, Civil Service, male//gaze, Tayne, and Kreator!

Today’s single slam features Electric Callboy, Civil Service, male//gaze, Tayne, and Kreator. You can read our thoughts about the latest singles from these bands below.

Electric Callboy – Tanzneid

What happens when rhythm becomes a force of nature? Germany’s most dynamic export, Electric Callboy, answer that question with ‘Tanzneid’, their brand-new single that turns dance envy into a full-body experience and sets the stage for their biggest global chapter yet: the Tanzneid World Tour 2025/2026.

Electric Callboy comments on the new single and world tour:

“With ‘Tanzneid’, we wanted to capture that wild tension between heavy energy and pure dancefloor madness. Turning our music into a party where everyone belongs. Playful, catchy, and powerful — that’s ‘Tanzneid’.

The maestros of catchiness are back with a disgustingly infectious effort, that is them, through and through. Yes, it’s not that creative and the formula is notably repeating but damn it if I don’t care. This, like so much of what this band does, makes me want to move and try as I might, I’ll be humming it for days to come.

Civil Service – Turn Out The /// Light (feat. Liam Knowles & Scott Shepard)

Civil Service have released their new single ‘Turn Out The /// Light’, via A Cheery Wave and Ripcord Records. The track is taken from their forthcoming album ‘DARK ///’, which is out 21st November.

A song brimming with talent, Civil Service have created something transcendent here and brought in two immense artists to ensure it becomes downright unforgettable. Liam Knowles of Hidden Mothers delivering harsh vocals and Scott Shepard of Blackshape delivering clean. Together, with Civil Service’s aptitude for potent post rock, we have one of the best songs the band has ever put out. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself tearing up. Check it out here.

male//gaze – Soft & Quiet

‘Soft & Quiet’ is the new single from male//gaze, taken from their forthcoming record ‘Too Late Now’, out 28th November.

Says male//gaze:

‘Soft & Quiet’ is a song about a toxic relationship where the only way it makes sense to survive is to make myself smaller..softer…quieter. By the end of the song, I’m frustrated and dedicated to breaking out of those patterns completely. With the context of the full EP, I will fully reject the idea of letting anyone speak over me or speak for me at all. A return to myself completely.

Creating some of 2025’s most beautiful, and challenging, music. The eclectic entity known as male//gaze brings us something daringly disconcerting, filled with pulsating effects, flareups of raw intensity, strained melodies, and haunting vocals. It is fascinating. Check it out here.

Tayne – Somebody to Love (Jefferson Airplane Cover)

Dublin-born, London-based Tayne have released a dark industrial cover of Jefferson Airplane’s ‘Somebody to Love’, the first new music since the release of their stunning debut album Love via MNRK Heavy. This follows the announcement of their UK & EU tour with Danish alt metal band MØL.

The band commented:

We wanted to do something that felt on brand with our album Love. ‘Somebody To Love’ was the obvious choice, it’s iconic and timeless. That song has existed for almost 60 years & it’s still relevant and as good as any pop song can be.

Not the cover most of us would have expected or wanted, but it’s the cover we got and isn’t it so damn cool!? The original is one of those tracks that I can take or leave, but Tayne transforms it into such a vibrant, industrialised effort that it’s barely recognisable. Give me this one over the original every single time. Check it out here.

Kreator – Tränenpalast (feat. Britta Görtz of Hiraes)

Metal titans Kreator have released a new single from their highly anticipated sixteenth full-length, “Krushers of the World”, which will be out on 16th January 2026 via Nuclear Blast Records. It is called ‘Tränenpalast’ and is a homage to horror maestro Dario Argento’s 1977 cult film Suspiria.

Says the band:

‘Tränenpalast’ is our tribute to the great tradition of Italian cinema. We drew inspiration from Dario Argento’s classic Suspiria and Luca Guadagnino’s epic masterpiece remake. Musically, we bow to the great Goblin, in direct conversation with maestro Claudio Simonetti. We hope you enjoy the song as much as we do. Only love to the greats! Hail to the Hordes!

Halloween might be over (this did come out on the 31st of October, to be fair) but Kreator have plenty of head banging horror and tension, Suspiria style, to tide us over until next year. This is very cool, and they don’t half-ass their tribute in any way, giving us Kreator thrash gold, sharing the stage with the immense Britta Görtz of Hiraes, and giving us a bit of a catchy chorus.
