Rituals – Breathless

Rituals return with their furious new single/video ‘Breathless’. This track is taken from the forthcoming EP ‘Hope In Hatred’ due for release on November 7th.

Speaking on the latest single, the band says:

Breathless is a unique song for us as it does not feature our typical anthemic chorus. Instead it is based around a rhythmic vocal hook. It is a straight up riff fest, I was listening to a lot of Slipknot and Machine Head around this time and I can hear that listening back to it.

A heavy and ferocious sounding banger that assaults the senses with a cacophony of groovy riffs, beastly drums, and feral vocals. It’s not just heaviness for heavies sake though as what we have here is anthemic refinement. Head bang yourself into a stupor for almost three minutes, when it’s curtesy of a track like this, it’s easier than you think.

Sabaton – Crossing the Rubicon

Sabaton, the #1 global power metal band and one of Sweden’s most successful bands, have released the latest single ‘Crossing the Rubicon’ featuring singer Jonny Hawkins and guitarist Mark Vollelunga of Nothing More. This special collaborative version of the track is out now, while the original version will be available as part of the ‘Legends’ album release (October 17 via Better Noise Music).

As bombastic as ever, even if it comes in shorter form and features a pair of unexpected, but welcome, guests. It’s Sabaton and you know what that means. Thumping rhythms, powerful choruses, and epic storytelling, nothing surprising, but nothing to complain about either. It’s Sabaton doing what Sabaton do so damn well.
