Sylosis – The New Flesh
Sylosis have revealed the first details of their seventh studio album, titled ‘The New Flesh’, slated to drop on February 20th, 2026, via Nuclear Blast Records. They have also released the album title track ‘The New Flesh’.
Sylosis state:
Introducing The New Flesh. This is us solidifying the line up of the band and moving forward with a new sense of purpose and aggression. After having spent so much of the last 2 years on the road, The New Flesh, and the songs that will follow from the album, have been written with the live environment in mind. There is an energy running through these songs that we’ve never felt on a Sylosis album, until now. We’ll see you all in 2026 – Josh, Ali, Ben, Conor.
Long live the new flesh – or in this case, the familiar, but fresh flesh as Sylosis are back and back with a riffy, groovy, and thrash-infused blast of head banging heaviness. It’s surprisingly straight-forward, but damn it, does it slay. Four minutes of frantic ferocity that you just know will cause some circle pit mayhem when played live.
Devilz by Definition – Angel Warfare
‘Angel Warfare’ is the second new single from groove metal band, Devilz by Definition.
Says the band:
‘Angel Warfare’ is an apocalyptic battle cry, painting a brutal vision of divine war and total annihilation. With thunderous riffs and relentless energy, the song describes angels and titans clashing in a celestial battlefield, raining destruction upon the earth as the skies burn red. Lightning strikes, chariots race, and the dead rise as heaven and hell wage their final war. The breakdown and bridge drive home the chaos, with swords clashing and bodies falling in an unstoppable storm of devastation. ‘Angel Warfare’ is pure, unrelenting carnage—the soundtrack to the end of days.
A dense second track from a band worth keeping an eye on, this new Devilz by Definition track has potent riffs, weighty drums, and scathing vocals. Turning the groove heavier but still delivering bundles of infectious head banging inducing vibes. It’s a cool track. Check it out here.
Call Me Amour – Wrong Direction
Today, fast-rising UK four-piece Call Me Amour have unveiled their brand new single, ‘Wrong Direction’. The track is the band’s first taste of new music since the release of their self-titled EP earlier this year, turning a page into a new chapter of their story as they prepare to embark on their debut headline UK tour.
Speaking on the single, frontman Harry Radford comments:
‘Wrong Direction’ is a song for anyone who’s ever felt out of step with the crowd. It’s a defiant, soul-stirring reminder that the world will always try to point you toward the safe route — the one mapped out by trends, billboards, and social feeds — but real freedom comes from taking the turn no one expects. With raw honesty and fearless energy, the songs narrative leads with breaking away from the paint-by-numbers life and daring to walk your own road, even if it means going the wrong direction.
Guitarist Geoff Murphy adds:
Defiant and driven, this single is an anthem for anyone carving their own path. It captures the raw energy of going against the grain—facing the noise, the doubts, and the critics—and turning every obstacle into fuel for success. Bold, unapologetic, and relentless, it’s a soundtrack for those who refuse to blend in and choose instead to rise on their own terms.
It does feel like this next chapter of the Call Me Amour story is the big one and as a showcase for what we can expect, this track excites. Featuring big alternative sounds with anthemic rock qualities, it’s Call Me Amour at their infectious best, delivering something with passion and energy.
Hamartia – Synthetica
Following on from the releases of ‘Is This It?’ and ‘Bloom’ – Hamartia’s most lyrically positive and self-affirming singles in recent years – the four-piece has chosen to channel any remaining negativity into Synthetica – a three and a half minute warning to anyone who is using badly rehearsed, performative feminism to take a stand, but only when it suits them.
On the inspiration for Synthetica, vocalist Sophie Smith said:
It came from pure frustration. I’m tired of how the responsibility always falls on women to call out misogyny and sexism, and to somehow be the ones expected to fix systemic issues. It’s about the men who wear feminism like a costume, rehearsing all the right lines while quietly dismantling the outspoken women around them who pose a risk to their fictional peace.
The danger is in the performance, in never quite knowing if they understand the harm, or if they enjoy it. I’ve always believed that what goes around, comes around. Some lessons just take longer to land.
Powerful and passionate music that draws from the world of alternative rock, has a touch of emo and grunge about it, and layers in expressive post, Hamartia create attention grabbing music. This latest effort comes laced with anger and frustration but still has their trademark ‘melancholy’ vibes. A very listenable track. Check it out here.
Tallboy – Mind’s A Warzone (This Isn’t A Cry For Help… Or Is It?)
Having released their debut EP (House of Glass) earlier this year, UK alt-metal band, Tallboy, continue their swift incline with the release of their new single, ‘Mind’s A Warzone (This Isn’t A Cry For Help… Or Is It?)’.
Says Tallboy:
It’s the sound of spiralling and fighting back at the same time. I wanted it to feel like a crowd scream and a private confession in one breath.
A noisy effort that has a fiery vein running through it, this is Tallboy with some bite behind their bark. The instrumental combination hits hard, but I have to say that the chorus is where it’s at. It will get well and truly stuck in the head, thanks to the soaring chorus. Though I do dig the breakdown too. Check it out here upon release (Nov 29th).
Hawxx – Resistance Is Justified
Never ones to rest on their laurels or hide in the shadows, London based progressive punk metallers Hawxx have returned with their brand new single. The politically-charged ‘Resistance Is Justified’ is the first track off their upcoming second album, out in the Spring 2026. In a world where musicians, artists, and creatives are increasingly finding their platforms and livelihoods at risk of being stripped away from them, Hawxx’s fearlessness only fuels their mission to give a voice to the voiceless in the face of adversity.
On the topic of the new single, vocalist Anna comments:
‘Resistance is Justified’ is a song about my good friend Jordan who has been in prison for one year without trial. He and 23 others known as the Filton 24 have been imprisoned for allegedly destroying weapons in the Elbit Factory that were due to be sent to Israel. Since then the UK Government has called them a terrorist organisation and anyone seen to be publicly supporting them has been arrested. This song condemns this decision of the UK government and condemns the silencing of our human right to protest injustice. I have played Jordan the song over the phone while he is in his cell.
This is such a powerful track, and Hawxx deliver it with all their heart and soul. It’s a track with some serious snarl, punky in spirit, but with heavy metallised focus. Impossible to ignore, Hawxx are screaming for you to stand up and speak, offering up the soundtrack to defiance.
Blood Vial – Corpse Container
From the slaughterhouses of Baltimore, Blood Vial erupt onto the scene with their debut single ‘Corpse Container’, a merciless blast of brutal death metal from their upcoming EP ‘Beyond Recognition’, out December 19th via Iron Fortress Records.
Sometimes all you want is a garish, gory, violent, and ugly slab of noise, death metal style. Which is something Blood Vial are more than happy to deliver. Offering up a no-nonsense blast of vitriolic heaviness liable to turn stomachs over. Fun, right? Check it out here.
Survivalist – (sic) (Slipknot Cover)
Belfast metal outfit Survivalist have released their explosive interpretation of Slipknot’s iconic single “(sic)” originally featured on Slipknot’s groundbreaking self-titled 1999 album.
A very cool cover of one of my favourite Slipknot songs. What I like is that Survivalist add a touch of slamming groove that makes it sound a bit different, but don’t mess with the pace and heavy formula as a whole. It’s the kind of cover that you just know slays in the live environment. Check it out here.
The Hirsch Effekt – Das Nachsehen
German rock/metal trio The Hirsch Effekt present their new single, entitled ‘Das Nachsehen’. It is the second track to be released from their new studio album Der Brauch, to be released 30th January 2026 via Long Branch Records.
Says singer Nils Wittrock:
The song ‘Das Nachsehen’ is basically about how I – and some people around me – deal with conflicts. Instead of talking to each other, interpersonal conflicts are negotiated with third parties. Many people shut themselves off behind their noise-cancelling headphones and smartphones. This stands in stark contrast to how many (especially) men walk around with a great sense of mission – be it loud engines, phone calls on speakerphone or Bluetooth speakers. Sometimes it seems to me that we are forgetting how to talk.
It’s no secret that The Hirsch Effekt create unique, dramatic, and memorable music, but this new album is shaping up to be their most eclectic and grandest work yet. The first single was special, but this is something else. Turning from potent melodies and cinematic drama into something heavier, more intense, post-driven, and progressively tinged. It’s incredibly potent and impressively addictive. Check it out here.
My Ruin – The Audacity
The resurrection of My Ruin is in full flow now, as the iconic pairing of vocalist Tairrie B and multi-instrumentalist Mick Murphy return with the single, ‘The Audacity’. This is the second single to come from their brand-new album, ‘Declaration of Resistance’, due out in January 2026.
Well now, isn’t the world that little bit easier to wake up in when My Ruin are releasing new music!? New music that comes with such potency, as the duo’s anger, frustration, and disgust at what they see going on around them has reached boiling point. This is My Ruin music with purpose, and this new single’s subject matter is one you best be paying attention to. It’s not like Tairrie B isn’t clear, even when her vocals get growly as f**k. She’s spitting fire here, and alongside a thick, riff-driven instrumental section, it results in a groovy, but heavy, My Ruin banger. It’s so good to have them back, and angry.
