Interview: In Devastation – Reflection, but Looking Forward with Frédéric Leclercq of Sinsaenum (Video/Audio)
Extreme metal supergroup Sinsaenum are back and back with a beast of a record! Their long-awaited brand-new album, ‘In Devastation’, which will be released on August 8th, 2025, via earMUSIC.
The release marks the band’s first new material since the tragic passing of legendary drummer Joey Jordison (Slipknot, Murderdolls) in 2021. Both the single and album serve as a cathartic tribute to Jordison and to guitarist and founder Frédéric Leclercq’s late father, whose deaths profoundly shaped the emotional and creative direction of the project.
Joining Leclercq on this latest chapter are returning members Attila Csihar (Mayhem), Sean Zatorsky (Dååth), Stéphane Buriez (Loudblast), and Heimoth (Seth). Stepping in behind the kit is Andre Joyzi, formerly Jordison’s tech and a trusted member of the band’s touring family.

We spoke to Frédéric Leclercq about the new album, the emotion behind it, the work that went into creating it, and what it means to release it. It’s not all about looking back though, as we also discuss how the band is looking forward while honouring the past, what the future looks like, and so much more.
