Horror Short Review: Good Night (2026)

Written and directed by Alec Ziff, Good Night is a very impressive horror short with a star making acting turn by Caroline Harris, even if her character is maddeningly stupid.

Par for the course in horror though, right? If characters made good decisions, we’d have to rethink the genre altogether.

So, what bad decisions does she make? Mainly not waking up her partner to tell him that a masked man is throwing pebbles at their apartment window. One who laughs creepily too. Though going outside to check also ranks up there.

It’s better than it sounds as Alec Ziff has tons of talent turning in something that feels really professional. It looks great, it sounds great, and as already stated, has a strong lead actor who plays up to the terror of the situation well. It is a little hard to get past her lack of survival skills, but I still found myself enjoying it, nonetheless.
