Horror Short Review: Don’t Drink the Tap Water (2025)

Who doesn’t love a creative horror short that has the look and feel of a big budget film? That is what we get with Don’t Drink the Tap Water, a psychological horror short by Nocturn Films.

Creepy, disconcerting, and very intriguing, Don’t Drink the Tap Water is a short you don’t want spoilt so I will be light on details. It sees a man, Jack, at home late one night, clearly very tense. So tense, that when a knock comes at the door, he pulls out a knife.

Who is on the other side of the door? A voice simply telling Jack to not drink the water, he can’t trust it, and ‘they’ can use it to find out what he has done.

Now that’s ruddy mysterious, isn’t it?

It’s a very investible horror short with a dark story that pays off just enough of its mystery to leave you wanting more, much more. It’s a tense experience, one that stays with you, and promises to make you look twice at that big glass of tap water you poured for yourself. After all, can you really trust it?
