Horror Short Review: Black Vein (2025)
Directed by Benedikt Meyer and staring Pamina Sellinger, Black Vein is an intriguing cosmic horror short with great visuals and strong atmosphere.

Sellinger plays a young woman, taking her baby on a foraging walk through the woods, when she finds a mushroom with a bloody stump. That would be shocking enough, except this poor mother then gets an even bigger shock when her baby disappears. Following her cries, the woman finds herself standing before an abandoned building and inside finds a TV that switches on as she approaches.
The horror is just beginning. There are some places that remember more than they should.

In four minutes, Black Vein delivers so much and still leaves you begging for more. Its story, while baffling, is compelling, and the character work is top notch. However, it’s the immense cinematography that truly makes the difference, giving the whole short a more potent professional feel.
Check this one out below. It’s a couple of minutes long, but it stays with you for ages afterwards.
