EP Review: Forcefed Horsehead/Shaving the Werewolf – From Horrid To Worse (Self Released)

Two of Norway’s most unhinged and unclassifiable extreme bands join forces to deliver ‘From Horrid to Worse’. A collaborative split EP from Forcefed Horsehead and Shaving the Werewolf, arrives February 13th, 2026.

Two bands equally adept at delivering irrational noise that combines hardcore, punk, d-beat, mathcore, and more. From Horrid To Worse might be an apt title to describe the cacophony on offer here, but it’s not an apt summation of what you can expect and all because both bands are daringly infectious. While being undeniably intense, and downright idiotic (from a speed and heavy perspective) most of the times.

Of the two, Forcefed Horsehead are arguably the more chaotic band, offering up a frenzy of garish noise that has demented rhythms, some groove, and brims with body-spasming d-beat and punk metal aggression. Their four tracks blaze by in wailing, gnashing, and grotesque fashion leaving the listener feeling bruised all over.

Whereas Shaving the Werewolf are, somewhat, more structured, even though their sound is rawer and uglier to the ears. I’d also argue that their sound is catchier, even if, upon first listen, that seems like nonsense considered just how vicious the vocal/instrumentation combo is.

Together, they offer up dissonance and devastation in aural form. Perfectly matched, and effortlessly mad.
