EP Review: Belmont – Last To Love (Pure Noise Records)

Chicago’s Belmont are back with a brand-new EP called ‘Last To Love’. Set for release on 4th September 2025 via Pure Noise Records.

Who had Belmont revisiting their pop-punk roots in 2025 on their bingo card? No-one? I don’t blame you, but to be fair even though that is what they’re doing here, it’s not as clear cut as that. All because they’ve sought to combine modern experimental aspects, their own unique technical intensity, and a mixture of different genres. This results in deeper, more complex, analytical, and polarising content like In the Sky, Live A Lie, and Carry On.

Each has value, and each has a unique voice, while being undeniably Belmont, but the lack of cohesion is notable, feeling more like a collection of singles then anything else. Which is fine, after all, it is an EP and we only got the banging Liminal album last year, so let’s not be too greedy.

It’s capped off with a remix version of the album’s title track, a solid listen, even if it has little replay value compared to everything else on the EP (and previous album).

While I think Last to Love might be one for the hardcore fanbase overall, thanks to the pop-punky sound and experimental aspects, a newcomer could certainly find plenty to like too.

Belmont – Last To Love Track Listing:

1. In The Sky
2. Live A Lie
3. Carry On
4. Liminal Remix
