Bloodstock 2025 Band Feature: Lowdown
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! It’s Bloodstock time and 2025 is looking to be one of the best events the festival has ever put on, if we’re judging it by bands… which we are, of course.
Taking place at Catton Park, Derbyshire from August 7th to August 10th, Bloodstock Festival 2025 has not only sold out all its weekend tickets, but it also sold out day tickets for the Saturday and the Sunday and it seems likely that Friday will follow suit before the festival actually starts. Boasting a lineup that includes the likes of Emperor, Lacuna Coil, Ministry, Mastodon, Fear Factory, Static-X, Nailbomb, Kataklysm, Obituary, and headliners, Trivium, Machine Head, Gojira, and so much more spread across four stages, it’s going to be one hell of a weekend.
Lowdown
All hail the riff…
Hertfordshire-based mob, Lowdown go hard, The four-piece have built up one hell of a reputation for bringing the heavy, the groovy and melodic heavy, and their upcoming debut album, ‘Alpha Omega’ proves that unequivocally. Due to be released on July 25th, 2025, via Damage Records.
Fans have already had a couple of tastes too, First, with the thick riff sound and filthy head banging groove of ‘SET FIRE’, and then with the punchy freshness of I AM KING, a track that is daringly anthemic. It’s the kind of heavy metal that will go down such a treat at Bloodstock, and they’ll have even more in their arsenal come the Friday of the festival.
New Blood bands get 30 minutes on stage, and while that might not seem much time at all, it’s probably best that Lowdown don’t play any longer just for the sake of attendee’s necks. The urge to head bang for 30 minutes straight is going to be too strong to ignore. It’s going to be great. We asked them what it means to play the festival this year, what Bloodstock overall means to them, and what attendees can expect from their set and they had this to share:
Playing at Bloodstock is a huge milestone for us in Lowdown—something we’ve been grinding toward since day one. For metal fans, Bloodstock is the biggest and most important festival around. It represents the heart and soul of the UK metal scene, where bands cut their teeth and earn new audiences. Being offered a slot is surreal—it truly means everything to us.
To be recognised by Bloodstock—the most prestigious metal festival in the UK—is the ultimate validation. It proves that our sound, message, and energy resonate. This is a dream we’ve chased with relentless drive, and now that it’s real, we’re more fired up than ever—to hail the mighty riff and bring our own style of metal to the hallowed grounds of Bloodstock!
