Album Review: Necromonger – Emanation Of The Dying Perceptions (Xtreem Music)

Formed in 2021 by members of Fecal Body Incorporated, Cocklush and Concrete, Bulgarian gore obsessives Necromonger play death metal and will release ‘Emanation of the Dying Perceptions’ on July 9th, 2026, via Xtreem Music.

Ugly, violent, and harsh, Necromonger display a blood thirsty and vitriolic style of death metal on this new album. Where track after track arrives in vomitus fashion and simply describing something as heavy fails to fully convey just what that means.

As extreme as it gets, Necromonger’s approach has a certain amount of non-traditional thinking, and you can tell they revel in the more horror laden aspects of the sound. Bringing forth dark and devilish atmosphere alongside a thick, measured, and oppressive style of death. Forgoing speed for crushing heaviness, it’s an album that meets garish expectations, and then some.

All through the medium of disgustingly down-tuned guitars, bass that threatens to bust the eardrums, vocals that come gurgling out of the deepest and darkest void, and drums that sound like they’re being played on the stretched skin and skulls of Necromonger’s victims. A hideous sound, but one that proves to be quite addictive as their use of atmosphere adds quite a lot to the overall package.

It’s difficult to single one track out over another, but this isn’t because of repetitiveness or diminishing impact, rather, it’s because every track has a different, rancid, flavour. A different showcase of savagery in all its nasty forms.

One of the more impressive things about the record is how it creates a strong sense of dread. There’s a palpable tension that oozes out of it and you can’t help but wonder if there is the possibility that nightmares will come from having experienced it. Alongside that, the record has plenty of moments that come with bloody-thirsty violence in mind. Short, sharp, and aggressive efforts that leave you feeling like your soul was violated.
