Bloodstock 2026 Band Feature: Void Below
Where does the time go!? Once again, Bloodstock is right around the corner, and once again, it is shaping up to be one the best festivals of the year. Not just because there are a variety of bands spread across its main two stages, not just because it is packed with fun things to do, great food and drink to enjoy, and tons of likeminded people to experience it all with, but because it champions the future of the scene with its New Blood and EMP stages. Where unsigned bands, some handpicked, but most coming through the Metal 2 the Masses events, get to play the festival.

It can be an absolute gamechanger for a band to play the New Blood or EMP stages and plenty have gone on to bigger and brighter things. We know, we’ve been paying a lot of attention to that side of things for a long time now, and every year, tried to feature as many bands playing as we could. While we can’t promise that we will see all these bands at the festival, we can promise that you will find a wealth of talent should you wander over to either.
Who knows, you may even end up finding your new favourite band.
It’s almost time for BOA 2026, so it’s time to get to know some of bands who will be playing the New Blood Stage or the EMP stage. This is Void Below!

First things first, tell us a little bit about yourself. How and when did you get started?
Void Below emerged in 2019 from a desire to channel the cosmic horror and existential dread of the Lovecraft mythos into extreme music. Since then, that vision has evolved into a devastating blend of Death/Doom Metal, combining crushing atmosphere, blistering blast sections, dissonant textures and tightly executed precision riffing into a relentless sonic onslaught.
Someone comes to you and asks you to sum up what kind of music you play – what do you tell them?
Lovecraftian Death/Doom.
Crushing riffs, suffocating atmosphere, blistering blast beats and moments of controlled chaos, all inspired by cosmic horror and the fear Ov The Outer Gods.
How has playing Bloodstock 2026 come about?
We applied for a slot & got on The New Blood Stage.
We were absolutely honoured when we got the confirmation.
Bloodstock has always been a festival we look up to, so getting the opportunity to play its 25th anniversary is something we’re incredibly proud of.
What does it mean for you to play the festival this year?
It’s a massive honour. To be part of Bloodstock’s 25th anniversary celebrations and share a bill with bands that have inspired us throughout our musical journey feels surreal. It’s a huge milestone for Void Below and an opportunity we’re determined to make the most of.
What’s the setlist looking like and can we expect any surprises?
We’ve got a crushing set planned that showcases everything Void Below is about—heavy riffs, dark atmosphere and plenty of intensity.
We’ve also added a newer track into the set, which we’re excited for people to hear. We’ve been putting in countless hours in the rehearsal room to make sure that this is the strongest and most devastating Void Below performance we’ve ever delivered.
Who are you looking forward to seeing, provided they don’t clash with your set?
Cryptopsy, Sepultura, Celestial Sanctuary and 200 Stab Wounds are all high on our list.
The entire line-up is stacked, so we’ll be trying to catch as many bands as possible across the weekend.
Ignoring the obvious (tent, sleeping bag, toilet roll, etc.) what’s one thing you should always take with you to a festival and why?
A few crates of Taddies (Stella’s).
Festivals are all about good music, good people, good times and having a cold one while watching great bands is hard to beat.
It’s post-set, you’re packed away and your press is all done. It’s finally time to kick back and relax, what are you drinking and what are you eating?
A well-earned Taddies (Stella’s) and whatever food is closest at hand.
After unleashing chaos on The New Blood Stage, it’s time to relax, take in the atmosphere and enjoy the rest of the weekend with a drink in hand.
Void Below play the New Blood stage on the Friday of the festival. Limited Bloodstock tickets are on sale now and you pick them up here.
