Interview: The Legacy and Future of Plum with Kevin and Waz Leicher
Plum, the legendary South African alternative rock band (formed in 1996), known for blending trip-hop, acid rock, nu-metal, and funk, make their return in 2025 with the single ‘Don’t Stop Believing’. This, following a 17-year hiatus, got the ball well and truly rolling, and their latest single, ‘How The West Was Lost’ is out now.
The future for the band, now featuring Kevin and Waz Leicher, alongside drummer Ryan Greenwood, and sound engineer Stevie G, has never seemed brighter, especially with the backing of Mongrel Records.
The band is currently focused on producing new material and maintaining an active live presence, aiming for a sound that is both nostalgic and forward-looking

In this interview, we chatted with original members Kevin and Waz about their return, their legacy, and everything in between.
