Interview: Catching Up With Fire The Humans

It’s been a while since we spoke to the solo project Fire the Humans so in this interview we catch up with the artist and find out what they’ve been up to.

1. Hello! Welcome back. It’s been a little while, so first things first, how are you and have there been any significant changes since we last spoke?

Thanks. Good to be back. I’ve been busy working on many songs throughout 2025. Writing and recording with multiple projects that will trickle out in 2026. Fire the Humans is my solo endeavor where I can branch out and explore a more authentic, raw emotion than other projects. That’s what I’ve been focusing on.

2. So, what’s new? What’s keeping you busy this time around? A new album/EP/single release? A new video? Playing live, or planning ahead?

Fire the Humans new single ‘Burned Alive’ will drop on 2/13. Simply put, it’s a sultry, sexy song written in the vein between Lenny Kravitz and John Mayer. This will be the first single released from the upcoming Fire the Humans EP in 2026. Videos were planned, but people really don’t have the attention span anymore to watch them. Everything is encapsulated within about 20 seconds, so I’m going to try a different approach through smaller, ‘bite-sized’ clips to spread the music. Live shows are also scheduled for 2026 and I’m meeting with a promotional company this afternoon to discuss the plans as well. More to come.

3. Describe what fans/listeners can expect.

The new single ‘Burned Alive’ is a song to go grab your ‘person’ and slow dance with them. Take them to dinner. Whisper with eye contact. Remind them how beautiful and sexy they are. Turn off your phone, eliminate distractions and connect. Be present.

4. Tell me about the work that has gone into making it a reality and what it means to you to see it come to fruition?

In regards to the new single ‘Burned Alive’ that drops on 2/13/26, the work really entailed trying to capture an overall mood. A personal experience I think that everyone can close their eyes and relate to. To finally see this come to life and be able to hear it now, is truly a gift and what I love most about creation. I think the mood was captured perfectly.

5. Sum up what this latest development says about you and where you find yourself at this moment in time?

Growth and stretching to express emotions where it’s uncomfortable to show that vulnerability. It’s not easy sharing feelings and exposing yourself of intimacy, especially in a world where people expect something different. It’s authentic whether you connect with it or not.

6. Has the time since we last spoke been a mostly positive period and has there been any one thing that stands out as being good?

Yes, positive. Life is eerily perfect. I’m not chasing gold and silver or popularity, so the creation alone is my reward. What stands out the most is to watch people around the globe enjoy my art. They have connected with songs like ‘Can’t Stop’ and ‘Clever’…. so I’m excited to see what they feel when hearing ‘Burned Alive’ on 2/13.

7. How about something that has challenged you since we last spoke? Has there been any particular thing that tested you, and if so, how did you overcome it?

Yes, of course. Getting out of my own way is always a challenge. Humbly sowing down and understanding that not everything is done on my time. When I’m ready to move forward, I assume the world is ready too. Not always the case, obviously, so that becomes challenging.

8. What is a realistic goal you’d like to achieve over the next 12 months?

Releasing the Fire the Humans EP is absolutely the goal in 2026. There are some really great songs that I want the world to enjoy. Getting really close to completion and prepping the marketing material around it, so that is definitely the achievable goal this year. It all starts with the release of ‘Burned Alive’ on 2/13!
