Megadeth – Tipping Point
Megadeth have unveiled ‘Tipping Point’ as the first single and video from their forthcoming self-titled final album due out in 2026 via Dave Mustaine’s Tradecraft imprint in partnership with Frontiers Label Group’s new BLKIIBLK label.
Says Mustaine:
We all have different ‘tipping points’ and they may vary from day to day. I think we’re all being pushed to the edge right now, and it’s easy to lean into that feeling. But it’s important not to let things get you down.
The long goodbye, but we are edging ever closer and if this is to be the ‘true’ final Megadeth album, then here’s hoping the whole thing reflects the head banging thrashy quality of this track. Keeping it really simple, focusing on speed and riffs, but letting Dave’s trademark growl shine too (he sounds great considering what he has been through). I dig it, especially the guitar solo.
Comastatic – Primitive
New Hopeless Records signees and Swiss rock breakout Comastatic have unveiled their new single, ‘Primitive’, featuring Point North.
Speaking on the track, the band explain:
Primitive is a voice for anyone facing the fight of their life. Whether it’s illness, trauma, or watching someone you love go through it. It captures the chaos, the exhaustion, the numbness, and the raw hope that somehow survives underneath it all. This song speaks to the ones who’ve felt powerless, poisoned, or broken and still found something worth holding on to.
The rise of Comastatic has been quite something to see and it’s all because they continue to release powerful, catchy, and memorable alternative tunes like this. Combining forces with the excellent Point North to deliver something with heart and soul, while also being undeniably anthemic too, especially when the chorus hits. Check it out here.
1914 – 1914 (The Siege of Przemyśl)
With their fourth album ‘Viribus Unitis’, out on 14th November via Napalm Records, Ukrainian death metal force 1914 return with their second single -‘1914 (The Siege of Przemyśl)’. Plunging listeners into the longest siege of World War I, where the Austro-Hungarian army faced crushing defeat.
k.u.k. Galizisches IR Nr.15, Gefreiter, Ditmar Kumarberg about ‘1914 (The Siege of Przemyśl)’:
Trapped behind fortress walls: In the icy grip of World War I, 130,000 Austro-Hungarian soldiers found themselves surrounded, starving, and desperate inside the mighty fortress of Przemyśl. From September 1914 to March 1915, the Russian army laid siege, pounding the city with artillery and choking off supplies. Months passed. Food ran out. Horses, dogs, even rats, became rations. Disease spread. Morale crumbled. And then… surrender. One of the greatest capitulations of the war. The once-proud fortress fell, handing Russia a symbolic victory on the Eastern Front. But victory was fleeting! A short-term win for Russia, but the tides turned again when the Central Powers retook the city later that year. War shows no mercy.
It should come as no surprise that this is another grand example of 1914’s story-telling prowess, but even then, how they express this continues to amaze. Approaching this dark and intense story with the kind of blackened fever that arrives on winds of death. Infusing it with historic value, utilising era-appropriate melodies, and crushing the mind, body, and soul with a blistering chorus, this is 1914 at their best.
Robot Death Monkey – Beer Machine
Hailing from Edinburgh, Scotland the power trio that is Robot Death Monkey have just self-released their new single and music video for their song ‘Beer Machine’.
A fun blast of brawny head banging intensity, delivered with passion and belief. You certainly don’t need to be drunk to enjoy this one, although the potency of the riffs and the impact of the guitar solo, might make you feel like you’ve had a skinful. It’s short and very freaking sweet. Check it out here.
Unto Others – What I Did…
Returning from the graveyard, Portland, Oregon’s Unto Others have shared details of their upcoming spooky release. The follow-up to 2021’s ‘I Believe In Halloween’, ‘I Believe In Halloween II’ is due 17th October via Lone Fir Records in the USA and Eisenwald Records in Europe, (released in conjunction with Century Media Records). As well as three original tracks of extreme terror, the EP also features a recorded version of their stellar cover of Ramones’ ‘Pet Sematary’ and The Misfits’ ‘Halloween’.
Now they’ve released the EP’s lead single ‘What I Did…’.
A fun, spooky sounding blast of punk-infused rock that is short and sweet. Featuring groovy bass lines, energised riffs, horror-focused lyrics, and unexpected spoken word vocals. It’s pretty damn different when compared to the majority of what Unto Others do. Check it out here.
Melrose Avenue – Inside Your Mind
Sydney alt rockers Melrose Avenue have returned with a vengeance on their latest single, ‘Inside Your Mind,’ out now via Hopeless Records.
Speaking on the new single vocalist, Vlado Saric shares:
This song is probably our favourite so far, we turned up to Matt Malpass’s studio in LA at like 9am In The morning after a 14-hour flight from Australia and he had this track ready to go, we sat down wrote the lyrics and knew straight away we had a banger.
I can see why Melrose Avenue are so confident that they have a banger on their hands, because they do. A bouncy alternative rock hit with a soaring chorus, experimental pop vibes, expressive melody, and a bit of heft to the instruments. It’s an easy track to like.
Preyers – Bring Ur Bruises
Preyers, a visceral new force in alternative rock and metal, have unveiled their new single ‘Bring Ur Bruises’, taken from their debut album, The Wounded Healer, out 14th November via Pelagic Records.
Centred on the concept of the wounded healer, ‘Bring Ur Bruises’ implores the listener to welcome their trauma in, to own it and wear it as a paradoxical means of ultimately letting it go.
With each new release, Preyers showcase more and more varied ideas and how comfortable they are expressing them. This new track is one of their most creative to date with some really enigmatic synth, shifting guitar rhythms, punchy drum beats, and emphatic vocals, of course. Often the highlight of a Preyers track are the vocals and that’s no different here. Check it out here.
Binary Order – My Favourite Pain/Beautiful
Binary Order is the London based one piece from the mind of Benjamin Blank, featuring a sound that ranges from brutal industrial metal to atmospheric synth pieces through to guitar driven rock numbers. On December 4th, the artist will release the ambitious double album, White’s Dream/Black’s Nightmare, and the first single ‘My Favourite Pain/Beautiful’, is out now.
The double album serves as a as a bookend for the Binary Order in its current incarnation, as Benjamin explains:
You can look at this release as a “best of” my previous work, but I haven’t really just taken the “best” tracks and put them together. The idea here was to make a (double) album out of previous material, by choosing songs that resonated with each other to recreate a cohesive experience across both “discs”. As individual songs as well they’re not just the best of what came before, but incredibly important pieces of my path as a musician.
Two tracks, one from each album, and two examples of how experimental and eclectic Binary Order can be as an entity. First there is My Favourite Pain, a synth heavy and haunting listen that really resonates thanks to the powerful vocals. Then there is Beautiful, a more intense and heavier showcase of vigorous guitars, guttural vocals, and soaring synth. Both tracks are amazing in their own way. Check them out here.
Lamb of God – Sepsis
Lamb of God are excited to share their newly announced signing with Century Media Records. In celebration of settling into their new label home, they return with ‘Sepsis’, a visceral, menacing new single, marking the GRAMMY® Award-nominated band’s first new original music since 2022’s critically revered album, “Omens”.
Says Mark Morton (guitars):
’Sepsis’ is a celebration of the very underground local bands here in Richmond that we really admired when we were just forming Burn the Priest. Bands like Breadwinner, Sliang Laos, and Ladyfinger—though they never got widespread attention outside of Richmond, those were the bands we listened to all the time. The song references that stuff in a way that’s a direct line to where we were coming from when we were in the basement writing our earliest material together.
Lamb of God doing Lamb of God stuff; heavy and gnarly, with raucous riffs, a beastly bass tone, and scathing vocals. It’s old-school groove metal from the masters of groove metal and while it doesn’t do anything fresh, it is really damn enjoyable. Lamb of God doing mighty fine Lamb of God stuff.
