EP Review: To The Grave – Still (Unique Leader Records)
On August 1st, Australian deathcore unit To the Grave will release their new EP, ‘Still’, via Unique Leader Records. Tracks that come from the mindset that created 2024’s critically acclaimed album ‘Everyone’s a Murderer’ but didn’t quite fit that album’s vibe.

Guess who is sounding mightily pissed off and ready to tear your face off if you don’t stop eating meat!? It’s To the Grave and while Still does have a few more experimental ideas, it’s undeniably them through and through. Aggressive and intense, delivering modern deathcore with bite, the flesh tearing kind, as evident by Forced Diet Reassignment.
Sawed Off’s measured tempo, noisy drums, and deck-scratching is the first example of the more experimental side of this EP. To the Grave still sounding utterly beastly, especially as it ends in chaotic fashion, but it’s undeniably different. Whereas the short and sharp bloodcurdling savagery of Show Them the Bodies is To the Grave through and through.
One of the EP’s best is Hunt the Hunters, a horror-laden track that features a darker, riff-focused, twisted tone with small infusions of melody. It’s a fascinating track, proving unequivocally that this band has more layers to their sound.
It’s another short and sharp offering with Emesis System, the vocals sounding utterly demonic. Before the original side of the EP wraps up with DNA (Do Not Amputate), pure deathcore speed and savagery. To the Grave at their absolute best, and to cap things off? How about a beastly cover of Cannibal Corpse’s Death Walking Terror. Yes, freaking please. Another satisfying release from To the Grave, the finest vegan deathcore band out there.
