Malevich Release New Single/Video – ‘Blossom in Full Force’ and Announce New Album – ‘Under a Gilded Sun’
‘Blossom in Full Force’ is the new single from Atlanta based blackened/screamo outfit Malevich. A cathartic listen, and flows seamlessly between passages of intensity and melody. This is the first single to be released from their third LP (and Church Road debut) ‘Under a Gilded Sun’, which is set for release on August 22nd.

The band delve into the themes behind the lead single, and explain why they picked it to lead the charge on this new album campaign:
We want to feature this song as the first outing as it does a lot of different things musically that really showcases our direction with this album. The different sections twist into themselves, it shows more dynamics, it features more synths and layers, and has an almost uplifting, cathartic ending to it that features all three of our vocalists.
Lyrically it is in direct opposition to individualism as a culture. Whether we call it neoliberalism, Thatcherism, Reaganism, etc. there’s an enormous pressure on people to see themselves and others as atomized individuals, detached from each other. You succeed in this system through cut throat competition and if other people struggle it is their own fault somehow. In reality we are so dependent on each other that our very cognitive ability to recognize our own existence is reliant on the recognition of the existence of others and their affirmation that we also exist to them. We are biologically social creatures that raise our children, we care for each other, and we get lonely in isolation. The very fact that we have language is a phenomenon of collective effort. At the same time individuals do still exist and the most authentic way to be as an individual is to recognize our social dependence while also affirming everyone’s right to their own creative existence.
With their upcoming LP ‘Under a Gilded Sun’, Malevich wanted it to be known that they weren’t making extreme music that was void of purpose. They have a strong message behind the intense music that they create. We live in a world where beauty has been defanged. The lack of teeth found on the thoughtful side of extreme music is concerning; hordes of reverb-soaked faux-black metal bands tremolo picking for the sake of selfish art and not anger. Malevich is angry. The band looks at the material world as it exists and condemns its violent, oppressive tendencies. They seek to contrast others that adopt trendy aesthetics but purposely avoid any kind of ethical stance outside of themselves.
