With a title like Horror of the Hungry Humongous Hungan, no-one should be expecting award winning horror content here. What most should, and likely will, expect is bargain bin b-movie trash that entertains because it is so bad. Sadly, that is not what we get here.
Written and directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, Heretic is a slow-paced horror/thriller that demands the viewer’s patience, and in return, delivers an engaging and smart experience. It stars Hugh Grant, Sophie Thatcher and Chloe East.
Written (alongside Victoria Fradkin) and directed by Aaron Fradkin, Beezel tells a traditional horror story spread over a 60-year period. Taking place at a seemingly cursed house, several different occupants discover the truth of what lives beneath it.
Jolly Roger: Massacre at Cutter’s Cove, dumb, and just about fun, provided you can get past the dull moments (and very slow start).
Powertool Cheerleaders vs the Boyband of the Screeching Dead, a zombie comedy horror that has tongue-in-cheek musical numbers.
Directed by David Liz, who co-wrote the film with Manuel Delgadillo, The Welder is a film with ideas. Confusing ideas that don’t really become anything of note but can certainly be commended for some originality.
No_Filter, written and directed by Michael Dupret, is another awkward and lazy example of filmmakers misunderstanding the influencer lifestyle and what drives so many to try to become one.
