Single Slam: Lamb of God, Monosphere, Hellripper, Coiled Around Thy Spine, Humanity’s Last Breath, and As Everything Unfolds!
Today’s single slam features Lamb of God, Monosphere, Hellripper, Coiled Around Thy Spine, Humanity’s Last Breath, and As Everything Unfolds. You can read our thoughts about the latest singles from these bands below.
Lamb of God – Into Oblivion
Lamb of God have set a March 13th release date for their new album, ‘Into Oblivion’ (Century Media & Epic Records), marking the band’s first full-length release in four years. News of the album’s arrival also comes accompanied by the debut of its title track, ‘Into Oblivion’, alongside a video directed by Tom Flynn and Mike Watts.
Guitarist Mark Morton shares:
For me, the album is about having the space to breathe creatively and not feeling like we have to keep up with any trend or expectation. It feels nice to be untethered from any agenda beyond rallying around the notion of, ‘Let’s just make music that we think is cool,’ which is really where it all started.
It’s fairly evident that the Lamb of God creative process for this album seems to have been built around keeping it simple. Which isn’t an insult, far from what. This latest offering is them through and through, and that’s a good thing. It’s groovy, heavy, and intense, the band turning the years back to sound more energised then ever. Be warned, this one might give you neck ache.
Monosphere – Limbic
‘Limbic’ is the new single from rising prog/post-metallers Monosphere. The latest track to be released from their highly anticipated new album ‘Amnesia’, out March 13th, 2026.
A fascinating track filled with elaborate and expressive elements yet condensed and delivered in varied fashion. Not only dramatic, but utterly ferocious too. Progressive metal with oomph. Check it out here.
Hellripper – Hunderprest
Scotland’s ibex-obsessed blackened thrash bastards of Hades otherwise known as Hellripper are pleased to announce their upcoming, fourth studio album ‘Coronach’, to be released worldwide on March 27th, 2026, via Century Media Records. The new single, ‘Hunderprest’ is out now alongside a new video which was filmed at UK’s Damnation Festival 2025.
The evolution of Hellripper continues with mighty aplomb, and while this beastly effort has many familiar elements, such as relentless blackened thrash instrumentation, demonically charged vocals, fire and fury, and even some dastardly soloing, it’s another bright showcase of the band’s future. Albeit a savage showcase that is guaranteed to please those hungry for ear-blasting and mind-melting metal.
Coiled Around Thy Spine – Edge of Fate
Melodic death metal band, Coiled Around Thy Spine, have just released their new single, ‘Edge of Fate’.
Explains the band:
This track is exactly who we are. No trends, no compromises, no dilution.
‘Edge Of Fate’ is built on heavy riffs, tight execution, and a dark atmosphere rooted in the death metal we grew up with and still believe in. We’re not interested in background noise or disposable songs – this one is meant to hit and stay.
We write and play metal the traditional way: discipline, weight, and intent. ‘Edge Of Fate’ stands on that foundation and pushes forward without apologizing to anyone.
If you’re looking for substance, identity, and real heavy music, this release deserves your attention.
It sure does deserve your attention, but that can also apply to pretty much everything Coiled Around Thy Spine drops. The melodic death metallers are in a feral mood here, going the fast and heavy route, but layering in extravagant touches of melody, ambience, and groove to get the head banging hard. It’s a class track. Check it out here.
Humanity’s Last Breath – Godhood
Before heading out on one of the most anticipated European tours of the new year supporting Lorna Shore, Sweden’s masters of aural dissonance and unapologetic heaviness Humanity’s Last Breath have dropped ‘Godhood’. The song comes with a dystopian video by Riivata Visuals.
The bar for heavy has been set at a near impossible to reach high with this new Humanity’s Last Breath track. A methodical blast of crunching guitars, drums, and vocals that also happens to have incredible layers of dark atmosphere throughout. It’s such a potent effort, it will leave you feeling empty inside. A truly incredible release. Check it out here.
As Everything Unfolds – Gasoline
As Everything Unfolds are proud to announce the release date for their new album, ‘did You Ask to Be Set Free?’, on April 10th via Century Media. The announcement also sees the release of a new single, ‘Gasoline’.
Explains vocalist Charlie Rolfe:
‘Gasoline’ is a story about that unquantifiable and confusing human bond you get with someone else. That twin flame sensation, that mutual connection with an unknown person, almost like you were destined to be in each other’s lives. During this song it explores an explosive connection, the thought process, the denial in wanting it and the need to turn away from it, even though it feels wrong, you desperately try to keep hold of your life path, ignoring this fated sensation, how heartbreaking and soul destroying it can be. This idea tied in so neatly with the concept of Count Dracula and Mina’s relationship from Bram Stoker’s Dracula, that otherworldly, toxic and destined love. Similar to Set In Flow, we used the story to visually inspire the music video, to which shots from the video are homages to moments in the 1994 film.
Bouncy, energetic, and infectious, this new era of As Everything Unfolds seems to be coming with one eye on the live environment. Where the band’s creativity has focused on how a crowd might react and what the band can do to get them moving. This isn’t the most complex, detailed, or emphatic track the band has ever put out, but it is memorable and a body mover.
