Bodysnatcher – Violent Obsession

South Florida deathcore mainstays Bodysnatcher have revealed their latest rager, ‘Violent Obsession’ via MNRK Heavy. The track is taken from the band’s upcoming new album ‘Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home’, due for release on Friday, 10th April.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, guitarist Kyle Carter commented:

‘Violent Obsession’ to me expresses hate for a person to the extreme. It’s about revenge and what you wish you could do to this person who’s abused you, or taken advantage of you. It’s about obsessively living in that headspace of hatred and wanting them to feel how they made you feel.

It should probably go without saying, but this latest single from Bodysnatcher goes very hard. Delivering a cacophony of extreme sounds with some two-step madness thrown in for good measure. Innate Bodysnatcher intensity, yet with a refinement that is notable. The new album is going to slay and tracks like this prove it.

Nautical Mile – Daydreamer

Perth pop-punk favourites Nautical Mile are officially back, returning with their nostalgic new single, ‘Daydreamer’. A heart-on-sleeve throwback that taps into the nostalgia of simpler times, before adulthood and the grapplings of growing up set in.

Says the band:

During our time away we all had a fair amount of life happening, so coming back to the band felt like us recapturing the spirit of those happier, lighter times. It’s a lot of fun to play, and we’re keen to get out and share it with the world.

Filled with delightful and heart-warming pop-punk nostalgia, this new Nautical Mile track ticks all the right boxes as far as anthemic crowd pleasers go. It’s a return that inevitably comes with expectations, and the band have kept it simple here. It’s a likable romp that will have many earnestly dreaming of happier times. Check it out here.

Evergrey – Architects of the New Weave

Shortly after announcing their fifteenth studio album, ‘Architects of A New Weave’, set for release on 5th June via Napalm Records, Evergrey have unveiled their new single and manifest of beautiful darkness, ‘Architects of the New Weave’.

Vocalist/guitarist Tom Englund about the new single:

‘Architects Of the New Weave’ – It’s a blistering first single from our 15th studio album, Architects of A New Weave, (or the second ferocious strike if you’re counting our standalone powerhouse ‘OXYGEN!’ as its own beast)! I am not afraid to claim this is a no-brainer, sing-along friendly, straight-up great metal song! It came ignited from Rikard Zander’s killer keyboard riff, which we hammered into a short, but massive headbanger! When crafting that chorus keyboard line, ‘Rainbow in the Dark’ was blasting in my head – pure epic inspiration, giving it that timeless, fist-pumping edge. There are dual guitar solos, trading fire in classic old-school style, melodic and memorable. We can’t wait to let this rip live! I’m torn on music videos sometimes – I adore them as an art form, but too often the visuals steal focus from the music itself.

Grand and dramatic in classic Evergrey style, this new track comes with weight. Dramatic weight that gives us a thick and punchy combo of riffs and drums, as well as soaring vocals, Which might make it sound heavier than it is. It’s got oomph, proggy oomph, but it’s also got melodic layers too.

Since 2000 – HELLelujah (feat. Lo Rays)

Glasgow pop metallers Since 2000 have announced their forthcoming EP ‘neverland [CHAPTER II]’, will be released on April 24th via their new label home Easy Life Records. To mark the announcement, Since 2000 have joined forces with post-apocalyptic alt outfit Lo Rays on the new single ‘HELLelujah!’.

A hyperactive, chaotic, and expressive showcase of modern alternative rock and metal that is kept explosive throughout. What is ‘pop metal’? It’s whatever the hell Since 2000 wants it to be and alongside the immense talents of Lo Rays, they deliver something remarkably infectious. Check it out here.

Knocked for Six – Faithbreaker

UK heavy hitters Knocked for Six return with their most personal release to date, unleashing the brand-new single and video, ‘Faithbreaker’.

It’s time to move, time to groove, and time to experience the intensity of a band on the rise thanks to their appealing genre-defying ways. Delivering a track that has a serrated metal edge but with bludgeoning hardcore groove infused. It’s hard and heavy, and I dig the hell out of it, especially as I suspect it goes even harder in the live environment.

Silo – Ill Intent

Silo’s new single ‘Ill Intent’ is a track about resilience and pushing back against manipulation. It’s the second preview of their debut album Haze, due May 1 via Easy Life Records.

Talking of the new single, Silo share:

‘Ill Intent’ pushes back against manipulation and false truths, echoing lyrics rooted in freedom, resilience and inner strength. It’s a confrontational track that speaks directly to an antagonistic presence. It is part warning, part plea, offering advice while drawing a clear line.

A rampaging effort that combines the intensity of post hardcore with the anthemic aspects of modern alternative rock warped by lyrical sharpness. The rawness of their sound cuts through nicely, but it is the methodical rhythm that makes it such an exciting experience in the end. A very memorable listen. Check it out here.

Nervosa – Ghost Notes

Metal heroines Nervosa unleash their new single ‘Ghost Notes’ from their upcoming album, ‘Slave Machine’, out 3rd April via Napalm Records.

Nervosa commented on ‘Ghost Notes’:

Strong and heavy riffs with a lot of groove showing deep feelings in a very poetic way, this song is definitely special in many ways.

Furiously heavy with bundles of head banging inducing groove, this new Nervosa track kicks a ton of ass. Who’s surprised? Not me! They’re one of the best modern metal bands and this new album is shaping up to be very special indeed. Expect some serious neck pain after listening to this one. Check it out here.

Split Chain – sylvia (i won’t belong to you)

Bristol nu-gaze band, Split Chain, have released their new single ‘sylvia (i won’t belong to you)’, their first new music since the release of their debut record ‘motionblur’ last year.

Speaking of the release, frontman Bert Martinez-Cowles says:

‘sylvia’ was written at a very odd time for us. After finishing one of the busiest and best years of our lives, from our first time in the US to dropping our debut album, it was the first time we had a bit of time to ourselves. We were back in the “real world”, taking everything in that we’ve missed and truly realised why we do this in the first place. The world is horrible, hate is everywhere and living just feels like a constant struggle, with the people in control who act like it’s a game. It was a ‘Truman Show’ feeling that we couldn’t shake, which is where the song was created from, with the name being based on the character Sylvia. Its a song about how it feels that we’re living in this made up, messed up world and the wanting to not be a part of it and escape to a better place, a different time.

Welcome back Split Chain. The word is always that little bit brighter when they’re around and that little bit hazier when they’re dropping new tunes. This new effort is fascinating because it’s one of their more intense sounding tracks, but it has also got plenty of familiar Split Chain dramatics and melody warped by their gazy edge. A grower of a track, the more you hear it, the more it rewards.

Port Noir – Ebb and Flow

After announcing their 5th album ‘The Dark We Keep’ in January, the Swedish prog band Port Noir continue with ‘Ebb and Flow’. A track that speaks of disconnection, decay, and the struggle to stay awake in a world on autopilot. It is the fourth single the band has released from the upcoming record which is to be released May 15th, 2026, via InsideOutMusic.

Continuing to deliver music with such potency, Port Noir’s new single is progressively startling and powerfully pleasing. Featuring an array of creative ideas delivered with the kind of passion that makes Port Noir stand out from the pack. I really dig the way they play and how they inject so much feeling into their specific brand of progressive rock and metal. This new album is going to be very special. Check it out here.

Distant – Spirit (feat. Tyler Beam of The Last Ten Seconds of Life)

Distant have released their new single and video ‘Spirit’, a track that features Tyler Beam of The Last Ten Seconds of Life. ‘Spirit’ is one of Distant’ most personal releases to date.

The band elaborates:

Inspired by a real life stabbing of a family member at a clinic called Spirit, the track channels grief, shock, and the uncomfortable human surge of rage and revenge that follows trauma. It is raw emotion turned into relentless sound and not supposed to glorify violence, but it is meant to confront it and ultimately deal with its traumatising aftermath.

Spitting and snarling, this isn’t just Distant at their most personal, it’s Distant at their most vitriolic and in three minutes they create glorious, heavy, and furious carnage. A track that slams, it’s as simple as that, but a track that is made that little bit more potent thanks to a stellar guest. Check it out here.

Armed for Apocalypse – Immortal

Armed for Apocalypse’s new single ‘Immortal’ comes from their forthcoming album ‘The Earth is Breathing Beneath Me’, which is set for release on 24th April 2026 via Church Road Records.

Says Nate Burman (vocals):

‘Immortal’ was a heavy one to write about. The video concept came to me in a dream one night. The idea of a looming darkness trying to take light away from you captured the feelings of what it feels like to struggle with mental health. I kept thinking, How good would it feel to just not hurt all the time? And I think that’s where the last line of the song “and to feel a heart without the pain is immortal” encompasses everything.

A very strong band with a ton of vibrant power behind their heavy sound, it’s great to have new music from the mighty Armed for Apocalypse. Especially when it comes in such moody fashion. This new effort is a vitriolic listen that gets more and more intense as it goes on. They’re a band with passion running through their veins and a track like this shows just how expressive they can be.

alt. – Sucker Punch

Adelaide alternative rock quintet alt. take a stand against the forces that threaten stability and autonomy on their new single ‘Sucker Punch’ out via Resist Records (AU) and SharpTone Records (ROW).

Says alt.:

“This song is our final stand. A fight back against an oppressive force that has lied, cheated, and taken everything we hold dear. Sucker Punch captures that breaking point, when you’ve had enough of the lies and the control. It’s about fighting back, standing together, and being ready for the battle ahead. This time, we’re prepared.

A punchy and noisy effort from a band who live and breathe alternative sounds. This is alt. at their fieriest sounding, delivering a punchy banger with some cool pop-infused twists along the way. Be prepared to have this one stuck in the head for a while afterwards. Check it out here.

As Everything Unfolds – Denial

As Everything Unfolds are gearing up for the release of their highly-anticipated new album, Did You Ask to Be Set Free?, on April 10th via Century Media. The latest single to come from the album is ‘Denial’.

Shares vocalist Charlie Rolfe:

Denial is the hardest thing to watch someone go through. You can say or do nothing that will make them realise the horrible situation they’re in, you see small moments of clarity where they’re screaming out for help but they fall back into denial. It’s their closest friend, their comfort. I found it the hardest phase to watch someone in addiction recovery go through, their disregard for your emotional and physical wellbeing, your feelings don’t even come into their mind, no matter how much you try to sympathise and say that you understand the pain they’re going through, it’s never enough to convince them that they’re not alone & their own destructive misery feels like they find joy in inflicting pain upon others, they feel better spreading their pain rather than facing it.

I’m loving the build to this album with each single delivering something special and this new effort is no different. They are a band who throw their all into everything they do, and this is a fantastic showcase of that. Charlie sounds immense and is backed up by a potent instrumental section that is creatively melodic. Yet when this one explodes, it does so in eye-widening style. A brilliant chorus is the cherry on top.
