Winterfylleth – Heroes of a Hundred Fields
Napalm Records have announced the signing of the UK’s black metal legends, Winterfylleth. To celebrate this new partnership, the band has unveiled a new album, ‘The Unyielding Seaso’n, set for release on 27th March. The first glimpse into the infernal release is ‘Heroes of a Hundred Fields’.
Winterfylleth about ‘Heroes of a Hundred Fields’:
‘Heroes of a Hundred Fields’ is framed in a wartime, battlefield setting and uses the premise of soldiers coming together, united as brothers, to fight against a foe who are powerful, oppressive, and domineering. It talks about how people should come together and fight for the freedoms they have and not succumb to those who would attack them and try to weaken them (or take them away entirely). There have been so many ideas and schemes pushed into the world over the last few years that only serve to erode people’s personal freedoms, slowly, little-by-little, until they are gone. This song talks about ‘lighting the beacons of rebellion’ against those who would seek to undermine the way of life and freedom that we all – hopefully – hold dear.
The fire in Winterfylleth’s veins has transformed into an uncontrollable inferno, spread outward, and is now threatening to consume all. Furiously combining history with fantasy and twisting it via modern and relevant issues, all while sounding blacker then the deepest and darkest corner of Hell. It’s Winterfylleth as we know and love them, unrelentingly intense but beautifully epic too. If you’re a long-term fan, you’re going to come away very pleased.
Sweet Pill – Slow Burn
Sweet Pill have shared their driving new single, ‘Slow Burn’, from their forthcoming new album ‘Still There’s A Glow’. Out now alongside an OD Blank-directed video, the song sees singer Zayna Youssef wrestling with anxiety and overthinking.
She explains:
I kept seeing a cigarette and how every slow drag fills you up with literal death, but the exhale feels so good–the irony of how something that feels good is so bad for you. There are countless things in my life I take a deeeep, slow drag from that really don’t benefit me, these habits have a short term satisfaction but the long term effect can be just one big slow burn. The song and video explore anxiety disguised as cameras and their constant surveillance. A snapshot into the mind of someone who overthinks to the point of ‘seeing things’ that may not even be there. Whether I am battling confidence or bad habits, overthinking can be so habitual. It kind of traps you in this circular purgatory which you find me running in and out of.
I am well and truly ready for this album now. Not just because it has already proven (this track included) to be utterly addictive, catchy, and powerful, but because it comes with so much heart, emotion, honesty, and relatability. This new effort nails all of this, but wraps it up in a punkier, energised, and excitable slab of alternative rock. It’s another banger. Check it out here.
Divine Chaos – Condemned to the Void
Divine Chaos have released their new single ‘Condemned to the Void’. Taken from their forthcoming album ‘Hate Reactor’, out 27th March.
Says the band:
‘Condemned to the Void’ is a stream-of-consciousness study of grief in real time, written and recorded in the aftermath of genuine personal tragedy and loss. Part lament, part salute to the honoured fallen, the track builds to a theme of hopeful determination to move forward with respect to the departed and in appreciation of those who remain.
A more dramatic effort with plenty of old school head banging vibes, this is Divine Chaos in a more melodious mood, building to a furious finale that hits hard. It’s a likable effort that shows off depth to their sound, suggesting that this new album is going to be quite varied in the end. Check it out here.
Mallavora – Lilith & Esther (feat. Banshee)
‘Lilith & Esther’ is the latest and third single from the forthcoming Mallavora debut album, ‘What If Better Never Comes?’, set for release on March 27th, 2026, via Church Road Records On this latest track, Mallavora linked up with the creator of “fairy metal”, Banshee.
Says Mallavora:
We connected with Banshee online and instantly loved the ethereal, haunting quality to her vocals. We wrote a track with her in mind and were very excited when she agreed to feature on it. In Lilith & Esther, we delve deeper into our cultural influences and draw strength and power from these ancient heroines. We’re really pleased with how this song turned out and look forward to its reception as we build up to the release of our debut album in March.
Clearly kindred spirits, Mallavora and Banshee make an incredible team. Delivering a potent and dramatic effort that takes the more ethereal melody aspects of the guest and twists it around the intense modern alternative metal sound that Mallavora is showing off here. It’s fascinating to hear the band really leaning into heavy territories and delivering something with bite. Yet it has the familiar heart and soul of Mallavora, the feeling that makes their music so much more impactful.
Bodysnatcher – The Maker
South Florida deathcore mainstays Bodysnatcher have announced their upcoming new album ‘Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home’, to be released 10th April via MNRK Heavy. The full-length will be the band’s latest body of new music since 2024’s acclaimed EP, Vile Conduct. In celebration of the announcement, the quartet have released ‘The Maker’ and the official music video.
The band comment:
We’re extremely excited to finally start sharing this album with everyone. We think it’s the bands strongest work. We finally accomplished the sound we’ve been aiming for from the start.
Deathcore masters at their best, this new Bodysnatcher track is a blistering beast of an effort. Absurdly heavy, with manic groove, and sounding utterly pissed off, it’s a ‘no gimmicks’ approach to the sound and surprisingly refreshing because of this approach. Simply put, it crushes. Check it out here.
Sludder – Paranoid Clown
‘Paranoid Clown’ is the second single from ‘Arteries’, the debut album by Sludder, scheduled for release in March 2026.
The pop-punk and alternative rock vibes are what most will immediately be attracted too, but what gives this track its staying power is Sludder’s ability to make the melodies, lyrical content, and catchy chorus mean more. It might sound poppy and peppy, but there’s a vein of darkness running through it. Check it out here.
Archers – The Dirt
Archers, the alternative metal/metalcore trio are back. Not only announcing their signing to the Fearless Records global roster, but releasing the brand new single, ‘The Dirt’.
It’s fantastic to see this band really getting their dues now, and here’s hoping that this Fearless partnership is what gives them the big boost they need and deserve. Archers are a great band, a band with tons of heart and soul, giving their infectious alternative sound so much oomph. This new track doesn’t change the formula up much, but it delivers dramatic and impactful detail that matters.
Uncultivates – Dread First
Saddle up! The bunch of reprobates that is Uncultivates are back with their third and potentially most explosive single to date. ‘Dread First’ is out now and it is the last single before they drop their debut album ‘This Will Become Clear Later, Like The French Revolution’ on February 6th.
Says the band:
Dread First, the third single is about being trapped at home while sick and letting the dread fester. Don’t let the spoonerism mislead you, there’s nothing nu-metal here. You can try and distract yourself but it’s always dread first.
As short as it gets on this album, the brilliant madness of Uncultivates might not be better summed up then how it is on this somewhat obnoxious effort. Around of a minute and half of disorientating noise that gets under the skin. It’s fair to say that the record, for all its post hardcore basis, might be more varied than expected. How exciting. Check it out here.
Port Noir – Noir
And so they shall return: Port Noir are starting the year not just with their newest single ‘Noir’, but the band has also announced their 5th album ‘The Dark We Keep’, to be released May 15th, 2026, via InsideOutMusic.
The band comments on the new single:
‘Noir’ taps into the dark and raw energy that signifies the vibe of the new album. We wanted to create something that relentlessly keeps building, like an overwhelming void of light that won’t give in. It’s a lot heavier than anything we’ve released to date, yet there is a sense of sentimentality and solace that guides you through the storm that is ‘Noir’.
Lyrically it takes you through a seemingly endless night that bends you to its will. Where bliss and despair make you grasp at anything to get through.
The heaviest track Port Noir have ever released? It certainly hits hard enough, even though it has the recognisable aspects, such as unorthodox melody, pulsating rhythms, and no small amount of progressive drama. It’s creative and interesting, one to study and experience over and over again.
ERRA – further eden
Prolific metalcore progressives ERRA are excited to announce their new album ‘silence outlives the earth’, set for release on March 6th, 2026, on UNFD. The record, which features previous singles ‘gore of being’ and ‘echo sonata’, explores themes of existence and the human condition. The new single, ‘further eden’, is out now.
Of the new single, guitarist Jesse Cash shares:
‘further eden’ was a song that Clint started and we built upon in the studio. The pentatonic leaning roots the song into a lighter energy than we typically employ, and the song feels like a fresh form of expression from the band. We were specific about wanting the music video and accompanying visuals to reflect that lightness.
A bit of evolution on show here from ERRA, offering up a bit more melody and focus on brighter tones (evident by the 90’s style video), but with plenty of that familiar metalcore energy and fire. It’s a likable anthem, nothing game changing, but nothing to turn the nose up at either. I’d like to see what else this evolution has to hold as we draw closer to the album release. Check it out here.
Desert Storm – Woodsman
Oxford, UK’s heavy and melodic sludge metal torchbearers Desert Storm present their stirring new track, ‘Woodsman’, taken from their anticipated new album ‘Buried Under the Weight of Reason’ coming out this March 6th on Heavy Psych Sounds Records.
I think this might be Desert Storm’s apex (for now). Their most varied, most creative, and their most expressive release yet. Something made evident by this melody-laced and riffy groove-monster that naturally flows from laidback dramatics to crunchy heaviness in a startling instant. It’s an excellent track, so that’s two for two now!
Misscore – Domino
Towering Polish heavy rockers Misscore are back with their new single and video, ‘Domino’, out now via DarkTunes Music Group.
Sitting on the alternative rock side of things, but with an expressive cinematic edge, Misscore’s new single has plenty to take note of, least of all the vocals. It’s a potent effort filled with vigour, interesting enough to hold the attention, and with catchy elements here and there. A band worth keeping an eye on. Check it out here.
Godeth – Vestige
Yorkshire finest groove filled death metallers Godeth are erupting their way into 2026 with their brand new single ‘Vestige’!
The band explains:
The song has been a popular staple of our live set for the last 6 months and we can’t wait for our fans to be able to hear our recorded version of it. The song is aggressive, groovy, and heavy, encapsulating everything we stand for as a band. We once again teamed up with the amazing Adam Gadsby who produced the song and saw our vision for what we wanted the song to be, and together we created our best sounding song to date. Vestige illustrates the inescapable rapid descent into misinformation politics and populism that the world is seemingly crashing into. Using satire and sarcasm to numb the pain, Vestige furiously lambasts the current state of affairs and declares a resounding ‘hell no’ to being dragged into the chaos and murder that sadly is commonplace in 2026. We can’t wait for its release!
Another kickass effort from Godeth. The groovy death metallers consistently knock it out of the park and this latest effort continues that positive trend. It also continues the positive trend of Godeth releasing absolute heaving efforts that crash and crush with gleeful abandon. They are a very heavy band, but they create music that compels you to head bang hard and move, and the fact that this one has a blackened edge doesn’t change that. Check it out here.
Nervosa – Slave Machine
Nervosa have announced their new album, ‘Slave Machine’, which will be unleashed on 3rd April 2026 via Napalm Records. Along with the announcement, Nervosa have also released the title track of the upcoming record.
Nervosa comment on new single ‘Slave Machine’:
This song is everything that we want to say and play, many different vocal layers and guitar melodies like a scream to say that we are all part of the ‘Slave Machine’.
Back and sounding meaner than ever, Nervosa (finally) seem to be a bit settled and this showcase of their new album tells us that their focus is on speed, heaviness, and ferocity. Garish death metal at its finest. A little bit of the old-school, a little bit of the new-school, and a whole lot of Nervosa’s head banging inducing ways marking this as an exciting return.
