Today’s single slam features Amon Amarth, Enemy Inside, KURO, Adept, 3TEETH, Deaf Havana, Tallah, Burning Witches, Shields, Predeceased and Biohazard. You can read our thoughts about the latest singles from these bands below.
Amon Amarth – We Rule the Waves
Sweden’s Viking metal titans Amon Amarth are pleased to unleash their new single, ‘We Rule The Waves,’ and its accompanying video. With ‘We Rule The Waves,’ Amon Amarth returns with its first new song in years and unleashes a war cry worthy of the gods.
The band comments:
‘We Rule The Waves’ is our tribute to the spirit of freedom, brotherhood, and the will to conquer — not just lands, but your own limitations. It’s about standing tall with your clan, facing the storm head-on, and carving your mark into the world like a Viking longship through blackened seas.
It’s been way too long since we’ve had a new Amon Amarth track to bang our heads to and the anthemic Viking metal band deliver a hefty throwback with this new single. A meaty heavy track with a shout along chorus, featuring gargantuan riffs, bombastic drums, and epic vocals that will have all raising their horns high. Amon Amarth rule the waves.
Enemy Inside – Innocent
Modern metal sensations Enemy Inside have released ‘Innocent’ alongside a visually striking official music video. Previously only available as part of the physical edition of their acclaimed current album ‘Venom’ (February 28, 2025, via Reigning Phoenix Music), both the track and video are now accessible worldwide.
If you own a physical copy of Venom then you already know this song kicks all kinds of ass, but now coming with a really well-done music video sees it kick even more ass. For many though, this will be brand-new and what they will find is a powered up, dramatic, and anthemic head banger that undeniably proves that this band’s creativity has been off the scale in recent times. It’s a beast, with layers of accessible melody, and one hell of a breakdown for those who desire a bit more ‘oomph’. Check it out here.
KURO – No Exit
Scottish alt-metallers KURO will release their new EP, ‘Circling The Drain’, on 3rd October, preceded by the new single and video, ‘No Exit’, out now.
Depending upon your proclivities for sharp electronica crossed with brazen metal, your mileage with this track will vary. It’s experimental, filled with vigour, and dangerously heavy at times, but it’s not exactly original sounding and ticks a lot of familiar boxes as far as modern alternative metal goes. It is good though, and that’s what matters the most.
Adept – Ignore the Sun
Swedish metalcore powerhouse Adept rise again, ushering in a new era with their long-awaited fifth studio album, Blood Covenant, out 24th October 2025 via Napalm Records. Following ‘Heaven’ and ‘You’, Adept have now unleashed their new single ‘Ignore the Sun’.
Adept comment on ‘Ignore The Sun’:
With ‘Ignore the Sun’, we really wanted to capture the full spectrum of what drives us — from relentless, riff-driven speed and that raw Scandinavian metal intensity, to heavy metalcore breakdowns that are made to fuel the pit. But it’s not just about power; there’s also this epic sense of grandeur and a lot of raw emotion behind it. The lyrics are deeply personal and hit hard, designed to connect with listeners on a real level, just like the music.
The future of Adept has never looked brighter and if the singles released so far are anything to go by, this new album is going to be one of their finest. Case in point, this absolute banger. A brutal effort that brings the heaviness via the riffs and the vocals, but it’s also one has such feeling infused in to it as well. Shifting tone halfway through and showcasing melody and clean singing expertly. They are a band who embody modern brilliance. Check it out here.
3TEETH – Civil War (Guns N’ Roses Cover)
Industrial provocateurs 3TEETH are back with a new cover, this time taking on Guns N’ Roses’ loaded 1991 hit ‘Civil War’.
Says frontman Alexis Mincolla of the track:
’Civil War’ always hit me as a song about how people get torn apart, not just by governments or ideologies, but by the lasting ripple effects of conflict itself. It was written over 30 years ago, and somehow nothing’s changed except the tools of perception management have gotten way more sophisticated. Sure, the faces may change, the flags may change, but the playbook stays the same. History loops like a low-effort rerun, and the remote’s nowhere to be found because the people writing the script want you tuned in and operating at a very low frequency.
We didn’t cover this track out of nostalgia. We did it because humanity has this uncanny habit of investing more in ideology than in each other, and that makes us easy prey for the psyops. This cover is a mirror to that cycle. Same bullshit, just in higher resolution.
There’s no touching the original, but credit to 3TEETH for coming up with an imaginative version that utilises their industrial talents to their fullest. It makes a big difference and ensures a track that has seen a hell of a lot of plays feels fresh. Credit to 3TEETH, not many people would try this and do it so well. The original is still untouchable though. Check it out here.
Deaf Havana – Car Crash
Deaf Havana have released their new single, ‘Car Crash’ and revealed that their new album, ‘We’re Never Getting Out’, will be released on October 3rd via So Recordings.
A touching piece that is incredibly honest and relatable, delivering gorgeous melody and powerful vocals. It’s Deaf Havana exposed, and that has such an effect. The emotion is so thick. Yet, it’s not miserable music, it’s beautiful music.
Tallah – as fate undoes
As part of the ever-growing alien world concept of their upcoming album Primeval: Obsession // Detachment (5th September, Earache Records), Tallah have carved out space for some pure, unapologetic fun with the music video for their new single ‘as fate undoes’.
The new clip from the American nu-core unit sees them channelling classic monster movies and 1970s television into their most deliberately playful visual treatment yet. Complete with custom puppets and epic monster battles, the new video exhibits the kind of B-movie charm that would make Vincent Price proud.
Bassist Max Portnoy, who directed the video, shares:
‘as fate undoes’ is heavily inspired by old monster movies and 1970s TV shows like Land Of The Lost. We haven’t done a tongue in cheek, humorous video before, but always joked about it, and decided to send it for this single, since it felt right for this song. After making the video, it was probably the most fun we’ve had at a video shoot. And now we have puppets of ourselves, so that’s cool.
Speaking about the track itself, Max continues:
The live strings we recorded for this record are on display prominently with this track. The song was mainly written around this violin melody I wrote one night. Once that idea was cemented, it turned into what I feel is a hit song. It’s got one of the most replayable choruses that makes you want to bounce. It’s fun. It’s dark. It’s very much Tallah at our core, all wrapped into 3 minutes.
Funky bass, feral energy, and a touch of weirdness that makes for an addictive listen; Tallah have dropped a banger here. One that is highly imaginative, challenging from a rhythmic perspective, but with a notably anthemic chorus. It’s very cool, but it sure gets a whole lot cooler when you watch the madcap video too. Check it out here.
Burning Witches – High Priestess Of The Night
Swiss heavy metal act Burning Witches have shared ‘High Priestess Of The Night’, a new track taken from their forthcoming studio album, entitled Inquisition, slated for release on 22nd August 2025 via Napalm Records.
Burning Witches comment:
We chose this good-vibed yet still heavy-themed, catchy mid-tempo song as a second single. This will be an ear catcher and a hip shaker for sure at live shows. This song is a must for everybody… it’s simple but it’s also the way of every Metalhead. If you are a Metalhead, you will like ‘High Priestess Of The Night’!
A Burning Witch special, which, if you know this band, means one thing – heavy freaking metal. Featuring some big riffs, rocking energy, a slaying solo, and vocals that wouldn’t be out of place in the NWOBHM era. It’s a great track, continuing the trend of great tracks coming from this new album. It’s shaping up nicely.
Shields – Red & Green
Following their powerful performance at UK’s RADAR Festival earlier this month, acclaimed British metalcore band Shields have released their emotional new single and music video ‘Red & Green’.
Says singer Joe Edwards:
I wrote this song about the passing of my brother and the space it left in the structural identity of my family. ‘Red & Green’ underwent multiple structural and thematic changes. While the initial idea held the core elements, achieving a huge orchestral-like piece with the right nuance took most of the creative process.
An incredibly powerful piece of music that is delivered with a massive amount of alternative metal passion. This is an open-minded and confident sounding Shields, more than willing to throw their all into being honest, but also delivering anthemic metal that ticks a lot of good ‘core’ boxes. Check it out here.
Predeceased – Heroes by David Bowie
UK based noise punk rockers Predeceased are back with the brand new single ‘Heroes by David Bowie’ (disclaimer: not actually a cover of ‘Heroes’). This is the first single to be released from their forthcoming discography record ‘Weirdo Riffers’ which will be released on November 7th via EEASY Records. It includes all of the bands recorded output to date, plus two unreleased tracks.
While part of me does wonder what a Predeceased cover of David Bowie’s Heroes would sound like, I’m not complaining about what we have here. An absurd blast of chaotic noise that is laughably, but addictively, nonsensical. It will leave you agape, but not in a negative way as this is a band who evolve and experiment with what it means to be punk and noise. It is brilliant. Check it out here.
Biohazard – Fuck the System
Brooklyn hardcore legends Biohazard are excited to announce, ‘Divided We Fall’, their first studio album in over a decade, out 17th October via BLKIIBLK. Reuniting the original lineup, the album delivers a blistering statement of unity in chaos. To celebrate the announcement, Biohazard has released a new single, ‘F**k the System’, which is accompanied by a music video.
Vocalist and guitarist Billy Graziadei had the following to say about the single:
‘F**k the System’ is BIOHAZARD calling it like it is. The powers that be have us at odds and beefin’ with each other while they sit back and cash in. It’s no accident the world’s burnin’ in front of our eyes. It’s all divide and control – while they keep us divided by politics, class, race, all of it, and have us out here fighting each other, they’re pulling the strings. ‘F**k the System’ is our war cry about the state of the world with no sugarcoated bullshit.
Straight up Biohazard hardcore fire, no nonsense, and effortlessly infectious, it’s as simple as that. A decade gone in an instant, sounding as intense as ever, and delivering addictive pit inducing qualities. Biohazard doing Biohazard things, what’s not to love about that!?
