A.A. Williams – Just a Shadow

Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM) proudly announces the signing of acclaimed singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist A.A. Williams, whose work blends haunting melody with a distinctly heavy edge. This marks a powerful new chapter in the artist’s evolution. To inaugurate the partnership, Williams unveils her new single ‘Just a Shadow’.

In Williams’ own words:

‘Just A Shadow’ is an ode to the darkness inside. A part of you since you can remember, a cruel friend lurking just outside of view. A presence that you’ve accepted, its familiarity brings cold comfort. You’ve tried to resist it and step into the light, but you’re scared that you’re nothing without the dark.

It’s been far too long, but my goodness, what a return this is. A.A. Williams continues to defy all expectations, delivering something boundary breaking, stunningly beautiful, and dramatically gloomy. The haunting melody, the potency of the vocals, the rocked up chorus, and explosive gaze/post direction that it goes in near the end, combine to make this an unforgettable effort. another A.A. Williams unforgettable effort.

Tribe of Ghosts – Corroded Gold

Brighton’s industrial post-hardcore quartet Tribe of Ghosts have released ‘Corroded Gold’, their new single and the final instalment of the new EP, ‘Open Wounds’.

Says vocalist Beccy Blaker:

‘Corroded Gold’ is the isolated inner monologue captured at the moment when you discover that someone you’ve idolised to the point that they are a part of your core identity is unveiled as a monster. You ricochet between rage, despair and an above all desperation to claw any remnants of this person out of you before you are infected.

I think this EP has proven that Tribe of Ghosts might be one of the most versatile bands in the UK alternative metal scene, and putting the exclamation mark on the statement is this new single. Which draws its power from chaos, perfectly showcasing a storm raging in the mind, but having these incredible flashes of anthemic heaviness that give you something to grip on to. It’s electrifying music, another immense effort from a band who make experimental metal look so effortless. Check it out here.

Predatory Void – Contemplation in Time

Belgian sludge/doom collective Predatory Void, featuring members of Amenra, Oathbreaker and Cobra the Impaler, return with ‘Atoned in Metamorphosis’, their second release. Set for release on 6th February 2026 via Pelagic Records. The band have unveiled their first single, ‘Contemplation in Time’.

Creative and experimental, Predatory Void offer up something quite intriguing here, something that switches tone so simply, that it’s bewildering. Especially as the tone switches, going from avant-garde melody and near-spoken word vocals to roaring blackened covered metal, are startling. It’s a track that needs a few listens to really appreciate.

Tombseeker – Immolated Self

Kansas City death metal battalion, Tombseeker, unleash their self-titled debut this January, a battle-tempered display of pure, unfiltered death metal. The lead single, ‘Immolated Self’, is out now.

A really aggressive, focused, and intense blast of death metal, Tombseeker might keep it simple here, but in doing so, deliver a track that will leave you seeing stars. Heavy throughout, with some small touches of flair here and here, I particularly like the sound of the snare drum. Check it out here.

Desert Storm – Shamanic Echoes

UK sludge metal powerhouse Desert storm have signed to Heavy Psych Sounds for the release of their awaited new full-length ‘Buried Under the Weight of Reason’ this March 6th, and have now unleashed the first single ‘Shamanic Echoes’.

About the new single ‘Shamanic Echoes’, they say:

Ceremonial in spirit and tribal in sound “Shamanic Echoes” pulses with bass-heavy foundations and thunderous toms, its downtuned guitars bending into hypnotic sludgy cadences. The middle passage drops into jazzy syncopated territory, before swelling into an earth-shattering crescendo—cause and effect climax and release. Lyrically, the track is steeped in ritual plant medicine and ancestral vision-quests: peyote mescalito and sacred smoke opening the gateway to higher states of being. It is both a hallucinatory trip and a sonic initiation.

You know it’s going to be a good day when we have new Desert Storm music to enjoy, and the UK heavyweights take their time here to really deliver something with potency. Not only showcasing some hefty riffs, deep sludgy groove, and punchy percussion, but a developed vocal palette that has the band sounding heavier than ever. It’s a banger. Check it out here.

CRYMWAV – Speak No Evil

Los Angeles rockers CRYMWAV unleash their new single and the official video for ‘Speak No Evil’.

‘Speak No Evil’ is about creeping fascism, big tech, and the sense that you’re always being watched, so watch what you say.

A body shaker with big riffs, and powerful vocals, CRYMWAV continue their good form with a lively, anthemic, rock banger that has the kind of accessibility that turns a ton of heads. If that wasn’t enough, there’s an interesting melodic switch about halfway through that adds a new dimension to CRYMWAV’s sound. Capped off by a very cool guitar solo.

Port Noir – Complicated

After their powerful return with the single ‘Redshift’ earlier this year, Swedish alternative rock outfit Port Noir continue to build momentum with their brand-new single “Complicated”, released now via InsideOutMusic.

The band says:

‘Complicated’ is the track on this album that most clearly builds on what we explored with Cuts. It carries the same melodic drive and atmospheric flow, but with a bit more weight that felt right to us as we were writing it. This song came together in a way that felt honest and close to what we enjoy creating, and we’re excited to finally share it.

We’re living in good times as Port Noir continue to release some of their best music to date. Not only electrifying, but eclectic too, pushing the boundaries of alternative rock and ensuring long terms fans of the band are kept on their toes. The bar for the scene is constantly raised by this band and what they release, and this track ensures that is no different here. Check it out here.

Catalysis – Tremors

‘Tremors’ is the new single from Dundee metal act Catalysis, and the first glimpse of a new EP slated for release in 2026.

Let’s freaking go! Catalysis are back and sounding angrier, groovier, and more addictive than ever. Delivering a cacophony of glorious head banging inducing noise that has a gurn inducing stompy edge, but also shows off a bit of experimentation within the chorus. I dig it.

Tanin’iver – Remembrance

Hearken, mortals of the metal realm: from the blistering heart of Adelaide/South Australia there emerges a thing of fang and flame – Tanin’iver, the blackened death metal conflagration whose latest apostasy ‘Save the Rest for the Wicked’ will be released via Morning Star Heresy on February 25th, 2026. The lead single, ‘Remembrance’ is out now.

Unduly savage, but damn it, if it isn’t so addictive. Tanin’iver’s new single is downright feral, from a speed and heaviness perspective. Not only featuring eye-watering guitars, but ear-bleeding drums, and soul-destroying vocals. One of the most intense tracks of the year, and it’s damn badass. Check it out here.

Sweet Pill – No Control

Philadelphia/New Jersey quintet Sweet Pill have announced their sophomore album ‘Still There’s a Glow’ will be released on March 13, 2026, via Hopeless Records. They’ve also shared lead single, ‘No Control’.

Says vocalist Zayna Youssef:

This is the first song we completed for Still There’s a Glow. At that time, I was feeling a bit…indulgent. Taking what I want, whenever I wanted it, and disregarding the world all at the same time. I felt like myself worth was cheap, and that I had no boundaries as a healthy person. I quite literally had no self-control. This song is sort of my way to rock bottom. It is my fancy way of calling myself a pushover, unconfident, and ungrateful. I had this ‘grass is always greener’ kind of mentality and wanted more when I already had it and then some.

One of the most reliable alternative rock bands out there, Sweet Pill’s return comes with a ton of dynamism. It also comes with their flair for the dramatic, the kind that everyone can relate to and enjoy from a mind bending and body shaking state of being. It a track that starts off simply enough, but not only gets more intense as it goes on, but a track that gets wilder and weirder. It’s very cool.
