Interview: Getting to Know Suffer
UK deathcore heavyweights Suffer have return with renewed intensity and a bold new era, releasing their latest single, ‘Pendulum of Vengeance’, across all major streaming platforms. ‘Pendulum of Vengeance’ serves as the first statement from their new lineup. The track explores the deeply human pull toward revenge, examining the satisfaction and gratification often tied to retribution. In this interview, we get to know them a little better.
1. Hello! Thank you for taking the time to chat to us. First things first, tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started.
Hi! Thank you for having us! So, we are Suffer, a Deathcore band based out of Wolverhampton, UK. We’ve been actively releasing music and playing live since 2019 after forming at the end of 2018. We originally formed when Ash & Chobba asked Jack if he wanted to start a heavy band at a party they were all at, it kind of just happened by chance really, there was nothing planned before that conversation, but then we started meeting up in a rehearsal room every week and slowly put together a line up with Coop joining on Bass and started recording some demos. Things really kicked off for us when we got offered a slot supporting Annotations of an Autopsy in Birmingham in May of 2019, prompting us to complete our line up with Kie coming in on Guitar a few weeks before the show! Our current line up came to life after a couple departures made way for our new Vocalist Greg & Guitarist Klaudiusz came on board in 2025 after having conversations and meeting up with the remaining original members, immediately hitting the ground running getting back playing live!
2. Someone comes to you and asks you to sum up what kind of music you play – what do you tell them?
We play heavy, aggressive music which blends Deathcore, Beatdown & Slam! Or for those who don’t delve into sub genres, we play that shouty angry stuff with the occasional pig noise and a bunch of breakdowns!
3. What’s currently keeping you busy? A new album/EP/single release? A new video? Playing live, or planning ahead?
All of the above really haha! We have a brand new single out now titled ‘Pendulum of Vengeance’,complete with music video, the first of our new line up! We also have a second single planned for May & a full EP scheduled to come out in August also! Touring wise we will be hitting the road this spring at across England, Wales & Ireland with Survivalist & Existentialist, a full UK tour in June and European festivals appearances in August!
4. What is it about this current period that is particularly exciting for you?
I think how driven every member is right now, we’ve got some very busy months coming up between touring, writing, recording and more but everyone seems to be taking it in their strides and all pushing in the same direction and the atmosphere in every aspect feels really good.
5. Tell me about the work that has gone into making it a reality and what it means to you.
It’s taken a lot of hard work so far, but theres a lot more hard work to come! It means the world to all of us that have been here since day one (Jack, Coop & Kie) to be able to rebuild a new line up, and with people like Greg & Klaudiusz with the enthusiasm and drive they brought with them and to already be achieving some really cool things, its been really satisfying!
6. Making music and being creative can be a very positive experience and can be very good for the mind. In what way has making music had a positive impact on your mental health?
I think for a lot of people that pick up an instrument or start a band, it can be about having an escape from the real world for a little bit. For us, it’s exactly that combined with the need to be creative and express ourselves. One of the biggest positive impacts on our mental health has probably been getting out and meeting people, having conversations and being sociable really has had positive impacts on members of this band!

7. It can also be incredibly challenging, more so in the modern times. What have been some challenging aspects of making music and how have you overcome them?
Yeah, thats absolutely true! I think finances has been a big thing, not just for people in bands but also for fans, promoters, venues etc the cost of living these days makes it difficult for bands to sell merch & music, its difficult for promoters & venues to sell tickets, especially in advance and of course difficult for fans to afford anything really. But we all persevere, and keep pushing to keep this GrassRoots scene alive as its what we love!
8. How do you handle the online aspects of being in a band? Having to put out content constantly, promoting across several different social media platforms, and having your success measured in likes and follows?
It’s very interesting that’s for sure! It’s such an ever changing landscape that it becomes difficult to keep up with what to post or when to post it! Especially when you have full time jobs, businesses and families etc!
9. How do you make this part of things enjoyable, and fulfilling, for yourself?
It can be hard at times! But any reaction we get to anything we post is worth it. Just knowing there are people across the World that listen to us daily is enough to make all the hard work & struggles with the modern world worth it! And as mentioned in a previous question, this has been massive for our mental health and helping us stay active in our social lives, see new places and just have something to look forward too!

10. Speaking directly to listeners – what would you ask they do to help support you?
Engage with anything and everything you see! Likes, shares & comments on social media posts go a lot further than people think! If you can afford too, please buy merch, whether thats online or at shows! And of course, buy advance tickets to shows if possible! Help keep your scene alive and venues open by getting out to any gigs you can!
11. Outside of music, what do you like to do to relax?
We all love to do and enjoy different things, we’re a pretty diverse bunch in that sense! Anything from Hiking, Painting Warhammer, watching Wrestling, Gaming, going to the Gym & loads more really!
12. Where can people find you?
We are on most social sites, streaming platforms etc! And you can find us on the road at your local venues too! You can find us on Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok, YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music and more, just type Suffer UK into your search bar and you should find everything you need from there!
