Interview: Getting to Know NightCatcher (Written)
NightCatcher is an old-school one-man 80’s rock and pop band who recently released the brand-new single, ‘Into the Night’. In this interview, we get to know NightCatcher a little better.

1. Hello! Thank you for taking the time to chat to us. First things first, tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started.
Hello! I’m from Copenhagen, Denmark. Age doesn’t matter, so the truth is out of the question. I’m just an old bastard who still thinks it’s not too late to conquer the world with the spirit of youth. Doesn’t make much sense, but that’s me. This project started last year, so it’s still pretty new. Nightcatcher is a one-man band, playing 80s-style rock and pop.
2. Someone comes to you and asks you to sum up what kind of music you play – what do you tell them?
Besides 80s-style music, I’d describe it as cool, catchy, and a little cliché — with a soundscape straight out of, you guessed it, the 80s.
3. What’s currently keeping you busy? A new album/EP/single release? A new video? Playing live, or planning ahead?
Right now, my single ‘Into The Night’ has just been released on digital platforms, along with a music video. I’m also in the writing process for the next album. No live gigs yet — but hopefully next year.
4. What is about this current period that is particularly exciting for you?
I’m preparing the next single release and music video — I’ve got all the ideas, just not the budget yet. It’s tough being a one-man project… nah, I’ll just keep selling drugs.
5. Tell me about the work that has gone into making it a reality and what it means to you.
This is something I’ve wanted for a long time, and suddenly it just happened. While recording drums for the fifth (The KillerHertz ) album, our drummer ran into some health problems, and I suddenly had time on my hands to bring this project to life. At first, I only planned to do a single, but it quickly turned into a full album instead! I’m having so much fun with it, and it really means a lot to me.
6. Making music and being creative can be a very positive experience and can be very good for the mind. In what way has making music had a positive impact on your mental health?
I’m always in a good mood when I write music for Nightcatcher. I love the vibe, and the lyrics aren’t meant to be serious at all. I think being creative is always good for your mental health.
7. It can also be incredibly challenging, more so in the modern times. What have been some challenging aspectsof making music and how have you overcome them?
There are thousands of bands in every area, all trying to play the same venues. These days every band can make a record or demo, so it’s tough to compete without drowning in the crowd. But that said, it’s also a great thing to see so many new talents and up-and-coming bands. And with platforms like Spotify, everyone can share their songs with the world — including me. So how do you overcome it? It’s the needle in the haystack — you either get discovered… or not…
8. How do you handle the online aspects of being in a band? Having to put out content constantly, promoting across several different social media platforms, and having your success measured in likes and follows?
I’m really bad at it. I wish it was something I loved doing, but it feels like homework. It would be a lot easier without having to fight for likes on social platforms — especially when your brain capacity feels more like that of a caveman.
9. How do you make this part of things enjoyable, and fulfilling, for yourself?
I don’t really have an answer for that… and my kids won’t even help me.
10. Speaking directly to listeners – what would you ask they do to help support you?
Give me likes everywhere, follow me for new content, just follow me — even stalking me in real life, I don’t care!! Or just listen to the music — you might even like it.
11. Outside of music, what do you like to do to relax?
All kinds of things… watch movies… and then my mind goes blank. Is that all? I can’t think of anything else right now — maybe my T-800 chip needs to be reset.
12. Where can people find you?
