Horror Short Review: Pleasant Inn (2019)

It’s rare I take a look at animated horror shorts as part of our horror short coverage, not that there’s a particular reason why I don’t, I just don’t tend to come across many of them. Every so often I do though and every so often one grabs my attention immediately.

From creator David Romero (featuring music by Myuu), Pleasant Inn is an attention-grabbing animated horror short. Not only featuring gorgeous visuals (graphic novel style) but telling a dark story about a woman, tired and alone, who stops at a motel and encounters a monster.

It’s an incredibly watchable horror, with an uncomfortable build, disconcerting moments, frightening tone shifts, shocking gore, and an ending that really satisfies. In fact, it leaves you wanting more and that’s a mighty good thing.

This is a must watch for all fans of horror.
