Horror Short Review: Bugaboo (2025)

From Dark Fun Pictures comes the horror, Bugaboo. A frightening short film that comes from writer/director Benjamin Morehead and stars Helen Donahue, Paul Farinosi, and Andrew Alford.

Justice. What does it actually mean and how often do people really get it? Especially if we’re talking about victims of sexual assault and rape. A very heavy subject matter for a film to deal with, let alone a five-minute film. However, Bugaboo gives it a go, dealing with the aftermath of such an event and the justice that is dished out afterwards, from a supernatural slant.

Monsters exist, but what if they were connected to you in such a way that when you were hurt, they would unleash horrors on the person responsible? That is what Bugaboo explores in stylish, exciting, and powerful fashion. It’s a very professional film, one that looks and sounds great, has a strong cast, and handles a difficult subject with poise, and still manages to make its scares count for something.
