Horror Short Review: 6-7 (2025)

I am convinced that there is no trend, meme, or general popular thing that ACMofficial won’t try to make into a horror short. Convinced because, up to this point, that is what they’ve done, but even having seen so many, I’m genuinely surprised they’ve found a way to make a horror short out of the 6-7 meme/trend.

An internet trend that can be best summed up as meaningless, and like most internet trends, short-lived. Yet it has inspired Alex Magaña, director and writer (alongside co-writer Jed Brian), to come up with a horror short. One that just so happens to be incredibly awkward to watch.

Starring Olonzo Maheia as Bentley and Taryn Praditngan as Layla, the short is as dumb as it gets, but that’s kind of the point. It’s not a short to take seriously, as evident by the ending.

The story is simple, two young adults decide to mess with a spirit board, and one decides to ‘trick’ a spirit into doing the meme. Naturally, this annoys the spirit and it gets its revenge. The best bit? Watching the character of Bentley die. Truly one of ACMofficial’s most obnoxious characters.
