EP Review: Zetra – Believe (Nuclear Blast)
Enigmatic synth rock duo, Zetra will release a new five-track EP, titled ‘Believe’, digitally on August 22nd via Nuclear Blast Records.

The rise of Zetra is in full force now, and the dynamic alternative synth-heavy rock duo aren’t letting their momentum slow down for a second, returning with a five-track showcase of their evolved and focused sound. Where pop meets rock, and synth is king, the result is a highly dynamic release.
Beginning with power, The Angel Cries is a dramatic opener that wraps itself around the listener. Likable enough, but nothing special. Whereas So is an outright banger. A magical track that is tinged with nostalgic rock, is experimentally melodic, and with deep layers of dreaminess that sets the senses on fire, this is Zetra at their best.
Although it’s fair to say that The Spider is nothing to complain about either. Showcasing Zetra’s dynamic pop-infused rock side with mighty aplomb, and while it’s familiar, there’s a clear development of the duo’s sound here too. They’ve worked on expanding their anthemic side, moving beyond the synth (although still hugely prominent) where you can really hear where the future of this band lies.
If they carry on this way, they really are going to be huge and Find Me won’t change that opinion. Not when it is so moodily melodic, and has a huge sounding chorus.
So how do Zetra cap off this EP? By delivering their heaviest track to date, an absolutely delightful cover of Kittie’s iconic hit, Charlotte. I laughed out loud upon hearing this and it left me grinning from ear to ear. What a perfect way to end a banger EP.
