EP Review: Sooth – Six Months On (Self Released)

Om March 27th, 2026, Glasgow’s Sooth (active 2002 until 2009) will re-release their EP ‘Six Months On’ to digital streaming sites. This EP was only released physically back in 2007.

High powered rock music, often courtesy of double kick drumming, with soaring harmonies and expressive melodies, the re-release of this EP is a great chance for Sooth to reach a whole new audience. Especially as their sound has a timeless quality and the four tracks on offer cross a lot of genre boundaries.

A good example of that comes from opener All Our Stories where, unexpectedly, a string section makes an appearance. It could be a jarring shift, but it’s not. In fact, it’s very cool and when coupled with an overall energised tempo and some harmonised vocals, it has impact.

As does The Night and Eenie Meanie, with the former having a bit of anthemic pop-punk flair and the latter being a robust hard rock head banger with a touching melodic twists. Both are filled with passion and showcase just why Sooth were such an attention-grabbing band.

Finally, it’s Am I Guilty? Here, Sooth’s string section adds some remarkable drama to a very groovy track. An exclamation mark on a strong EP that more than deserves its wider release.

Sooth – Six Months On Track Listing:

1. All Our Stories
2. The Night
3. Eenie Meanie
4. Am I Guilty?
