EP Review: fakeyourdeath – (NON)ENTITY (Self Released)

Brighton based experimental electronicore band, fakeyourdeath are back with their second EP, ‘(NON)ENTITY’, out March 13th, 2026. It is the follow up to 2024’s ‘null/void’, and was produced by Wayne Adams (Petbrick, Big Lad, Wasted Death).

I really like fakeyourdeath, finding their powerful blend of industrial, electronica, and post hardcore to be so interesting and it’s a thrill to hear them hit such a high on this new EP. Where each track offers up something fresh, something memorable, something intense, and something authentic. It beggars belief that they can deliver something so heavy and so focused on electronica, but something that is also so anthemic as they do with opening track X/Y. This is the bar and it’s a high one, especially as it comes with an ‘in your face’ tone that feels personal. The vocals, often screamed to the point of rawness, are stunning, and backed up by creative use of effects and noise.

It’s clear that fakeyourdeath haven’t been sitting still and have looked to refine what they do while pushing the intensity in a whole new direction. Something solidified by the creative Shapeshifter, where provocative experimentation slams headfirst into daring infectious body shaking elements. I really dig the brief bit of chiptune music at the end too.

Taking the ‘club vibes’ to a whole new level, albeit a grungy and grubby one, R.I.P.M.E comes with a chorus beat that encourages some serious chest thumping, foot stomping, and fist pumping. Right up to its explosive electronica-controlled finale. This one will be a sweaty one live.

Finally, it’s The Parasite That Never Gives In, and fakeyourdeath push the intensity to a new, darker, and stranger level here. There’s a salacious edge to this one, mired in the sound of dramatic and dangerous industrial-infused electronica that, maddeningly, gets under the skin. Scratch until your bleeding, but there is no relief, fakeyourdeath’s infectiousness is embedded in deeply now.

An outstanding release that showcases stunning evolution. It might leave you wanting more, but you won’t be left feeling unsatisfied.
