Bloodstock 2025 Band Feature: Fortune Teller
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! It’s Bloodstock time and 2025 is looking to be one of the best events the festival has ever put on, if we’re judging it by bands… which we are, of course.
Taking place at Catton Park, Derbyshire from August 7th to August 10th, Bloodstock Festival 2025 has not only sold out all its weekend tickets, but it also sold out day tickets for the Saturday and the Sunday and it seems likely that Friday will follow suit before the festival actually starts. Boasting a lineup that includes the likes of Emperor, Lacuna Coil, Ministry, Mastodon, Fear Factory, Static-X, Nailbomb, Kataklysm, Obituary, and headliners, Trivium, Machine Head, Gojira, and so much more spread across four stages, it’s going to be one hell of a weekend.

Fortune Teller
Bloodstock always needs more power metal, even if that might be too simple a way to sum up this band. Think power and symphonic metal blended with modern melodic metal and you’re on your way. Then, throw in some delightful storytelling elements and you have Fortune Teller.
The band is the brainchild of seasoned musician Ross McLennan who has toured extensively with his previous bands Ingested, Viscera and Abhorrent Decimation. Paired with Grammy long-listed producer Meyrick De La Fuente on keys and video game composer and guitarist Ian Rockett, Fortune Teller has the objective of making riff laden modern power metal with anthemic and melodic chorus hooks.
Fronted by the experienced and charismatic vocalist Theresa Smith of Metaprism, the band make the mission statement of ‘big riffs and catchy singalong choruses’ their priority.
They’ve not been around too long, but they’ve made an impact already around country with storming shows and with two really well received singles, Savage Seas and The Fortune Teller. All of which got the attention of Bloodstock, resulting in them being invited to play (such an honour).
They will be hitting the New Blood stage on the Saturday of the festival and we’re very excited to see what they have to offer. So, we asked them a few questions. Namely, what it means to play the festival this year, what Bloodstock overall means to them, and what attendees can expect from their set. This is what they had to say:
We are super excited to be back at Bloodstock with a whole new project. Each of us has been a guest at the festival in different line ups over the years and we are stoked to be bringing FORTUNE TELLER to the New Blood Stage. It is an honour to be asked to perform our music at the UKs No.1 metal festival and we cannot wait.
Bloodstock is a festival that has that rare combination of hosting some of the world’s greatest Metal Elite and yet still feels like home to new, up and coming bands. The M2TM and New Blood gives the best opportunity for new bands to get to play such a powerhouse festival, and get their music heard. We love Bloodstock not only because it is an awesome metal festival right here in the UK but because of what the community means to all of us.
We are looking forward to bringing our music to the audience. Expect big riffs, even bigger choruses and songs you’ll hopefully be singing for the rest of the week! For fans of: Kamelot, Avantasia, Evergrey, Battle Beast.
