Album Review: Tumanduumband – Hail Satan, Triumph Awaits (Self Released)

Tumanduumband are a Satanic doom duo, hailing from the darkest depths of the West Midlands, UK. On the 29th of August 2025, they will release ‘Hail Satan, Triumph Awaits’, their latest studio album.

Methodical and morose, harsh and heavy, sinful and salacious, this is Tumanduumband and they conjure up so much unholy noise here that there is no way (should he exist) that Satan isn’t nodding his horned head in approval at the sound of this three-track album.

Three tracks? Yes, but what enormous beasts they are. Trust me, you’re getting your monies worth, although Tumanduumband might want payment in a different way.

Blood. It’s blood, because this is a ritualistic experience and you’ll feel so damn wicked for listening to it. Worry not, we’re all fucking damned anyway, so why not enjoy the thick, slow, and evil soundscapes that Tumanduumband create? It’s way more compelling than you may first expect. Although if you have a ear for the darkest of doom, experimental heaviness, drone, and the like, you’ll probably find yourself more enamoured than most.

There are no vocals, but to add depth and even more sinfulness, Tumanduumband utilise samples that have a 1970’s horror feel, which helps create a stronger sense of unease. Which is such a major part of the album’s vibe – unease. Drawn out riffs and downbeat drums will do that, but even then, Tumanduumband push it to breaking point.

Each track is a mighty example of this, and even more clever aspects, but of the three, it’s the title track that proves to be the most special of all. Not only is it an epic, over 18 minutes long, but it is smothered in dark ambience, deliriously doomy, absurdly methodical in tone, and frighteningly laden with Satanic vibes. You might start to feel like you are part of some sort of conjuring ritual and you just don’t know it.

It’s an incredible feat to create such a tense mindset, especially one that is so listenable. Tumanduumband have surpassed all expectations here. Hail Satan, indeed.
