Album Review: Crème Flesh – For Your Ass Only (Comatose Music)

‘For Your Ass Only’ is the new album from brutal slam band, Crème Flesh. Out April 3rd, 2026, via Comatose Music.

Featuring tracks called No Cunt for Old Men, Lake Flaccid, MILF of Magnesia, and Scat’s Cradle, I think it is safe to say that For Your Ass Only isn’t an album you should be taking too seriously. Nor should you be expecting something akin to Rush when the band is called Crème Flesh. It’s just not that complicated.

Still, just because their approach is childish, has their tongues buried firmly in their (butt) cheeks, and could be considered downright offensive to some, doesn’t mean they’re half-assing it. Far from it, they’re whole-assing it and it’s nice and thicc.

Do you like extreme metal? The kind that slams into you from behind with the force of a 1000-pound rhino in the throes of mating season? Of course, you do, and Crème Flesh have exactly what you need with this album. Feral and furious, filled with vitriolic heaviness and grinding intensity, it lives up to its promises of brutality and then some. Music for those with sickened sensibilities, but also music that has been professionally and thoughtfully crafted, ensuring that purveyors of good musicianship will find something to enjoy too.

It’s not just a combination of bludgeoning riffs, garish hooks, or crunching drums that gives the album its vicious feel. Nor is it tempos that are akin to being on an out-of-control rollercoaster, one with a brick wall at the end. No, so much of the album’s viciousness lies at the feet (or maybe that should be the ass) of the vocals. Roaring, scream, squealing… a cacophony of horribleness with lyrics that alternate between the absurd and the hilarious.

The whole thing is ridiculous though, and isn’t that just the way slamming brutal death metal should be? For Your Ass Only isn’t going to win Crème Flesh any new fans outside of those for a penchant for a bit of butt play, or those up for a bit of experimentation.

Tempted? Crème Flesh are downright encouragable. Get in there as deep as you can, you might find you like it more than you think.
