Weekly Review Roundup: Monday 9th March 2026 – Friday 13th March 2026
From groove metal to pagan pop and folk, to alternative rock, post hardcore, metalcore, and so much more, we’ve reviewed some great releases this week, and here’s our weekly reminder of what was covered. All these releases are out now!
Lamb of God – Into Oblivion (Century Media / Epic Records)

On the one hand, Into Oblivion can be called the most quintessential Lamb of God record in some time. An album that embodies everything great about them, how they have literally nothing to prove, and can easily deliver passion-fuelled, riff-laden, aggressive track after track. Yet, on the other hand, the fact that they have nothing left to prove means they can experiment and this album does feature some surprising moments. Not loads, mind you, and it’s fair to say that their overall creative process for this album seems to have been built around keeping it simple.

Eihwar – Hugrheim (Season of Mist)

Few bands have the power to immerse in the way that Eihwar do and on this new album, they really push that immersion to new heights. Not only by crafting their own story and sound, but by drawing from a deep and detailed world that is as wonderous as it is terrifying. The result is something truly exceptional, even if the modern blend of electro, pop, and pagan folk comes with a certain amount of polarising aspects.

Sweet Pill – Still There’s a Glow (Hopeless Records)

The sophomore release challenge has been well and truly met. Sweet Pill have dug deep, found themselves, and delivered an album with heart and soul.

fakeyourdeath – (NON)ENTITY (Self Released)

An outstanding release that showcases stunning evolution. It might leave you wanting more, but you won’t be left feeling unsatisfied.

Vicious Rain – The Anatomy Of Surviving (Arising Empire)

The genre is oversaturated and standing out within it is becoming harder and harder. Unless you’re a band like Vicious Rain who come with more vim, vigour, and vinegar than most. A highly capable band with feverish intent, potent dramatics, and brash musicality in every aspect of their being.

Wolfbastard – Satanic Scum Punks (Apocalyptic Witchcraft)

As rampantly riotous and raucous as ever, Wolfbastard are back with an album full of blackened punk, speed, thrash, and d-beat infused noise. Fans are going to feel right at home, and across the eleven tracks, Wolfbastard keep it simple, focused, and downright relentless.

Shadowvale – Shadowvale (Self Released)

Shadowvale have dropped a debut that stands out, and hopefully, it’s the beginning of big things for them. They certainly deserve it based on the quality of what is on offer here.
