Single Slam: Lamb of God, Blacklight Vice, The Last Vinci, and Frozen Soul!

Today’s single slam features Lamb of God, Blacklight Vice, The Last Vinci, and Frozen Soul. You can read our thoughts about the latest singles from these bands below.

Lamb of God – Blunt Force Blues

‘Blunt Force Blues’ is the final single from Lamb of God’s brand-new album, ‘Into Oblivion’, which arrives on 13th March via Century Media / Epic Records.

A real throwback tune that is Lamb of God through and through, this final single from the new album satisfies any remaining hunger for relentless and unyielding groove metal. Downright anthemic, all parts of the band are on fire here, confirming that this new album might be one of the band’s best to date.

Blacklight Vice – Blood in the Teeth

Blacklight Vice, the heavy rock/metal band from Southampton, have released their latest single, ‘Blood in the Teeth’.

I dig what this band is doing. A fast-paced, energised, and exciting head banger that balances heavier intensity with anthemic rock elements. The word that comes to mind while listening to it is ‘riot’. A fun riot though. It’s a track that leaves you wanting more. Check it out here.

The Last Vinci – Begging for Some Help

Alt-rock trio, The Last Vinci have released the new single ‘Begging for Some Help’, out via Narrow Door Records. The track is taken from their forthcoming album ’15 Minutes at a Time’, which is slated for release on 17th April.

Says Alex (guitar and vocals):

The track reflects the breaking point were turning inward only deepens the anxiety, and you’re compelled to reach for something outside yourself. It’s about losing yourself to anxiety and slowly searching for a way back. The video turns anxiety into something physical, It explores the idea that our demons aren’t separate from us, they’re part of us.

The band have also announced a full UK tour in May around the album release:

13th Worcester – Copper Beech
14th Bristol – the Croft
15th Southend-on-Sea – Fickle Pickle
20th Brighton – Dalston
21th London – Blondies
22nd Birmingham – Centrala
23rd Cambridge – The six six bar
24th Sowerby Bridge – Black Pig
27th Glasgow – Hugs and Pints
28th Hull – Adelphi Club
29th Nottingham – JT Soar
30th Lincoln – Southside

Continuing to show immense growth and experimentation, The Last Vinci are on incredible creative form right now and this track really pushes things to a near indescribable place. It’s addictively weird and fascinatingly wonderful, filled with all manner of head turning elements, least of all the video. Check it out here.

Frozen Soul – No Place of Warmth (feat. Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance)

Death metal / hardcore unit Frozen Soul have announced their new album ‘No Place of Warmth’ will be released on 8th May via Century Media Records. The album opener and title track ‘No Place of Warmth’ is out now and features Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance.

About the track, vocalist Chad Green reveals that:

It is about life at its coldest and the choice you have to let it consume you, or to use it to find warmth in a world that feels void of it. Life is always coming at you, and death doesn’t stop—you might slow it down, but it’s always coming—so you have to make the best out of it and march on.

Well now, isn’t this exciting. New Frozen Soul and with an unexpected, but exciting, guest. I wouldn’t have though My Chem’s Gerard Way would fit on a Frozen Soul track, but here we are and what we get is a crushing, chunky, atmospheric head banger that is familiar, but different. Frozen Soul are already a band on the rise, and tracks like this only enhance that.
