Malevolence – Twelve to Zero
UK metal titans Malevolence have unveiled ‘Twelve to Zero’, a brand-new track written and recorded in just twelve hours as part of a bold collaboration with Blizzard Entertainment for World of Warcraft®: Midnight™, the 12th expansion and second chapter of the epic World Soul Saga.
How cool is this? Don’t care for World of Warcraft? You can easily ignore the crossover aspects and just enjoy a hefty, groovy, two-step inducing and melodically charged listen. Malevolence effortlessly creating something head banging inducing that continues to showcase the evolved direction the band is heading in.
NOST – High & Low
London based alt-metallers, Nost, return with their second single ‘High & Low’.
Vocalist and songwriter, Edward Heredia states:
This song explores the feeling of being trapped inside your own skin, stuck with the same thoughts, memories, and emotional patterns for too long. The recurring imagery of reflections, drifting, and the void conveys a deep sense of disconnection and loss of direction, as if watching yourself fade into emotional numbness while searching for an escape.
A potent slice of melodramatic alternative metal that comes charged with atmosphere, NOST are going to turn a ton of heads when this is the kind of music they are releasing. Modern metal with feeling, tinged with darkness, but authentically human sounding, it’s an easy to like anthem. Check it out here.
Roman Candle – Lady Lazarus
Roman Candle have released their latest single, ‘Lady Lazarus’.. A brutally honest confrontation with misogyny, survival, and the violence of shrinking for comfort. Named after Sylvia Plath’s incendiary poem.
Vocalist Piper explains:
‘Lady Lazarus’ is me confronting misogyny head-on and refusing to shrink for anyone. The title comes from the Sylvia Plath poem, and like her, I’m pulling something powerful out of something painful. Lines like “Tender when I wanna be, Callous when I have to be” came from recognising how women are expected to bend, soften, or apologise just to exist – but also how we learn to harden ourselves for survival.
When I sing “Give me your dead stare, I eat men like air,” it’s not about hating men – it’s about reclaiming the space that was denied to me, the anger I was taught to bury, and the fear I was meant to carry. This song is the sound of unlearning all of that. It’s rage, it’s release, and it’s me deciding I’m no longer shrinking out of anyone’s comfort.
An incredible showcase of contrasting styles, delivered in authentic fashion, Roman Candle pack a two-ish minute track with a lot of fury, frustration, and relatability. Their alternative rock ways given an injection of noise and hardcore, with a melodic switch adding layers.
Divine Chaos – Without A Trace
UK modern thrash heavyweights Divine Chaos return with ‘Hate Reactor,’ their first new release since 2020’s The Way to Oblivion, out March 27th. The latest single, ‘Without A Trace’ is out now.
One of the strongest single releases from the band so far, this new beast comes loaded with head banging inducing riffs, relentlessly heavy drums, and roaring vocals that soar in a chorus that is downright infectious. A meaty metal anthem that will have most salivating at the prospect of hearing the full album. Check it out here.
Broadside – Freak
Richmond, Virginia alt-rock outfit Broadside have unveiled their latest single, ‘Control Freak’, offering another glimpse into their forthcoming album, ‘Nowhere, At Last’, due out April 10, 2026, via Thriller Records.
Broadside’s vocalist Oliver Baxxter shares:
It’s about being controlled by someone else, and slowly realizing how much of yourself you’ve handed over. The quiet violence of being told it’s all in your head.
Cleverly combining bouncy and anthemic elements with playfully creative touches and grounded lyrical content, Broadside showcase exciting maturity here. The kind of maturity that will help them get more attention from the wider alternative rock and metal world. There’s a little something for everyone here (the heavy breakdown is cool) especially everyone who likes catchy body shakers. Check it out here.
fakeyourdeath – X/Y
‘X/Y’ is the new single from fakeyourdeath. The second offering from ‘(NON)ENTITY’, the 2nd EP, which is set for release on March 13th, 2026.
Says vocalist Candi Underwood:
‘X/Y’ is a reflection on a desperate need for love. It explores how our own demons can taint our expectations and make us question whether we are worthy of it at all. It’s dark and it’s brutal, but it’s also hopeful. Sometimes you just have to let things go and that’s ok.
I’m really beginning to love this band and it’s all because they consistently deliver exciting, unique, and memorable music that can’t be easily defined. I love that a track like this can be so heavy, so focused on electronica, and so anthemic. Yet it comes with a ‘in your face’ tone that feels personal. The vocals, often screamed to the point of rawness, are stunning, and backed up by the creative use of effects and noise, results in something you have to sit and let sink in afterwards. A brilliant effort.
JoanOvArc – Mechanical Overlords
There’s no stopping JoanOvArc. Riding high on the success of their recent EP, ‘Escape the Fire’, the unrelenting hard rockers continue their charge into 2026 with the new single, ‘Mechanical Overlords’.
A band with a solid reputation for delivering high-powered, head banging inducing hard rock with widespread appeal, JoanOvArc are on the rise and appealing groove monsters like this certainly help. A foot-tapper through and through, even with its slower and darker tone, it has huge singalong capabilities thanks to a big sounding chorus. What really stands out though is how it injects more drama in as it goes on. Check it out here.
Winterfylleth – Echoes in the After
With ‘Echoes in the After’, UK black metal legends Winterfylleth unveil the second single from their upcoming album, ‘The Unyielding Season’, out 27th March via Napalm Records. Inspired by the felling of the Sycamore Gap tree, a landmark near Hadrian’s Wall, and adapted from a poem from Sir Philip Sidney’s 16th-century epic ‘The Countess of Pembroke’s Arcadia’.
A blistering and brutal display of powerful black metal that has immense meaning behind it. While it is true that these words could be said about many Winterfylleth tracks, they particularly apply here as the legendary band continues to solidify the focused intent that this new album clearly has. A potent epic with howling vocals and ferocious instruments, Winterfylleth really are one of the best. Check it out here.
ANA – Hate Me
Couture symphonic metal band ANA have dropped the new track ‘Hate Me’ and a provocative new music video. Their new full-length album ‘Motivated by Death’ is set for release on May 29th, 2026, via Eclipse Records.
An attention-grabbing song (and video, that’s for sure), ANA deliver an explosive showcase of symphonically twisted metal that embodies what it means to ‘go big’. A creative showcase of confidence and power, it’s an impressively detailed piece that hits an anthemic high in the chorus.
Our Nameless Boy – (Not in My Name)
Bristol-based alt-rock band Our Nameless Boy have released their new track ‘(Not in My Name)’ alongside a music video. The track is the second to be released from their upcoming EP ‘Thorns’, out 10th April via Bandcamp and on all other platforms from 17th April.
Says Iain Gorrie (guitar, lead vocals) of the new track:
‘(Not In My Name)’ highlights the hollowness I often perceive in political speeches and discourse; that there are certain things that almost shouldn’t need to be said, and then when they are, it feels like there’s no substance or action to back those words up.
A bit grungy in places, with varying tempos that see the alternative rockiness of the band power up in the chorus, this new Our Nameless Boy track is a moody effort. Yet, even with that being a notable part of its makeup, it’s infectious and filled with plenty of power, showcased in more intense and unexpected fashion as it goes on. Check it out here.
Vaticinal Rites – Augury of the Bloodied Crucible
Vaticinal Rites are an old school death metal band in the vein of Morbid Angel and Deicide from London, UK. Their latest single, ‘Augury of the Bloodied Crucible’, is out now.
Less than two and a half minutes of savage, uncompromising, and dangerous death metal focused noise. Vaticinal Rites pull no punches here and the raw aggression and furious intent leaves one hell of an impression. This one hurts. Check it out here.
Mallavora – Hopeless
Mallavora, the rising alternative metal band, have released ‘Hopeless’, the latest single from their eagerly awaited debut album ‘What If Better Never Comes?’, out March 27th via Church Road Records.
Says Mallavora:
We wrote this song at a time when everything just felt too hard, and the challenges we face felt insurmountable. We learned that it’s ok to let your guard down, take off your brave face and accept that there really is no such thing as certainty. Staring down the possibility that things might not get better can be terrifying, and feels so hard to do. But it’s not about abandoning hope altogether. Rather, it’s about letting go of things that we don’t have any control over, and trying to find the balance between acceptance and hope. We know hopelessness can be incredibly lonely, so we hope this song provides some solace and connection for anyone who relates to its meaning.
I really think we have something very special on our hands here, especially as far as variety goes. Mallavora, who have already proven just why they are one of the most exciting bands in alternative metal right now, bring us a stunning showcase of haunting melody, sensitive drama, and temperamental rock. This one will touch the soul, rest assured, and shows just how far they have come already.
Eihwar – Heill Óðinn
Eihwar release ‘Heill Óðinn’, the third single from their forthcoming album ‘Hugrheim’. A ritualistic homage to Óðinn, the Allfather, the track channels the resurgence of ancient memory and the echo of a forgotten world slowly returning to consciousness.
Rooted in the mythology of Hugrheim, the hidden tenth world of Yggdrasil, ‘Heill Óðinn’ marks a decisive moment in the album’s unfolding narrative. In this realm shaped by the Hugr, the spirit, thoughts take form and memory becomes prophecy. As described in the fictional treatise Hugrheim, the Tenth World of Yggdrasil, this unseen domain stands beyond the nine known worlds, a shifting landscape where soul and fate intertwine.
Heill Óðinn’ captures the moment when memory stirs:
Minni fornra tíða kemr til vár smám saman / Í dag minnumk ek morgundags
The memory of ancient times is slowly returning to us. Today, we remember tomorrow.
A breathtaking release that adds more immense folk depth to what is shaping up to be an eclectic and expressive album. An infectious and hypnotic effort with layers that slowly, but effectively, unpeel as the track goes on. The latter part has some of the most haunting vocals heard from Eihwar so far. Check it out here.
Rogue Awakening – Take My Pleasure
Rogue Awakening, the epic alt-metal band, are back with a brand-new single called ‘Take my Pleasure’.
The might of Rogue Awakening is on full display with this brand-new epic that blends anthemic qualities with fiery heaviness and heart-pounding energy. Showcasing the different layers of the band, how effortlessly they combine different vocal styles, and how a really hefty and punchy instrumental section makes for a thrilling listen. They’re a very cool band, and one well worth paying more attention to. Check it out here.
Tallboy – The One Below All
UK alt-metal bruisers, Tallboy, continue their swift rise with the release of their blistering new single and video, ‘The One Below All’.
Twisted and dangerous, this new Tallboy single takes creative liberties with the alternative tag to deliver something aggressive, sinister, and very intense. Downright brutally blackened in places, the bass plays a big role, and it features layers of odd effects, resulting in something notably creative. Check it out here.
Scene Queen – Manicure
Watch out: Scene Queen is back and she’s back with a bad bitch anthem for the ages. The new single, ‘Manicure’ comes with a music video that fights back against the patriarchy with vengeance, Scene Queen-style.
Speaking on the new track, Scene Queen shares:
The song ‘Manicure’ is one of many songs from a new era where I really went back to my roots. I got into the studio with as few people as possible and thought “if I could make Bimbocore again, knowing what I know now musically and personally, what would be different?” As much as I love the humor and pop sensibilities of Bimbocore, and plan on keeping those going, I realised I’d make the heavier parts even more jarring and rage filled. Thus, my angry song for long nailed divas was born.
The idea came from a conversation I had in a bar in Nashville months ago with Joey where the song Goodbye Earl by The Chicks came on and he challenged me to write it from my metal perspective. So, story wise, it follows a similar idea, if you could save your friend from a terrible man, wouldn’t you? It’s also very self-aware in the sense of saying, yes I am beating up a man AGAIN in a song but it’s because they keep doing awful things.
As unstoppable as ever, this new Scene Queen track sees the unique artist in a sharp and intense mood, delivering one of her heaviest tracks to date, and doesn’t it freaking slay? As always, a part of the appeal comes from the lyrical content and how Scene Queen delivers the potency. Here, delivering some of the gnarliest growls and roars. She is incredibly talented and bit by bit, we’re seeing more of that talent.
