Interview: It’s Time to Thrash – Talking Dead Flesh Rising with Guitarist/Vocalist Rafal of Hellmaze
Hellmaze, a melodic thrash metal band based in Denmark, has been delivering their intense energy to audiences for the past six years. Formed by an experienced group of metal musicians who have been active in the Danish metal scene for the past 30 years, Hellmaze blends aggressive rhythms with melodic elements, providing a healthy dose of high-speed entertainment.
The band’s unique sound is characterised by a combination of ferocity and melody, drawing inspiration from both classic and modern metal influences, ensuring that each live performance is a powerful and unforgettable experience. Hellmaze’s music explores a range of themes, from serious reflections to humorous takes, inspiring audiences to mosh in the pit and scream along to the lyrics.
‘Dead Flesh Rising’ is their debut album, due for release on January 30th, 2026. Recorded, mixed and mastered at Angioni Studios in 2024-2025, released under the ‘Cornhole Records’ label.
In this interview, we chatted to guitarist and vocalist Rafal Malewski about the debut album, the work that went into creating it, balancing the thrash mentality with a fun attitude, playing live, and so much more.
