Album Review: Caskets – The Only Heaven You’ll Know (SharpTone Records)

Leeds post-hardcore quartet Caskets are back with their most potent release yet. It’s their third album, ‘The Only Heaven You’ll Know’, and it is out November 7th, 2025, via SharpTone Records.

Fast becoming one of the most dependable bands in the alternative and post-hardcore scene, Caskets hit a new level of anthemic honesty with this record, and in doing so, challenge the listener in unexpected ways. Not only is this liable to be their most relatable release, but there’s a strong argument that it’s their most complete sounding. Delivering potent track after track filled with melody-charged metal and rock, it’s the sound of a band on a creative tear, for better or worse, and connecting to their listeners on a much more emotional level, even though not every track is a hit, personally.

That’s to be expected though with a band as eclectic as Caskets, and it still a joy to explore their sonic landscape and hear what experimental ideas they have to offer. Especially as, and this is so important, it often results in something quite catchy.

Lost in the Violence is a great example of this as it has a robustly melodic chorus and bounces between the more emotional alternative side of the band and their heavier, more intense post-hardcore stylings. It’s a great opener. Whereas I find Our Remedy a solid track, especially from a vocal perspective, but that’s about it. How about the epic chorus of the title track though? One of the most memorable of the entire album and liable to be surefire Caskets fan favourite for many years to come.

Although you can say that about a fair few here, but not Closure.

Look, I wasn’t kind about this track when it was released as a single and while hearing it as part of the album does soften my view, I still find this to be a tepid and bland effort, all because it’s so generic. I don’t particularly love Sacrifice either, but I do appreciate the darker tone of that one. Whereas What Have I Become is brilliant as it focuses on big melodies, vibrant beats, and a chorus that soars. Another personal favourite and a genuine high point of the record.

A high that continues with the dense Make Me A Martyr, the melodramatic Save Us, the effective Escape, and the passionate In Vein. Nobody can deny Caskets are wearing their hearts on their sleeves here. Which is probably why the closer of Broken Path feels so big, even as the band push their experimentation to an even more challenging level here.
