EP Review: Soulkeeper – Join Us In Creating Excellence (Pure Noise Records)

Progressive metalcore disruptors Soulkeeper will release their highly anticipated new EP, ‘Join Us in Creating Excellence’, set for release on 19th September 2025 via Pure Noise Records.

There are some really cool ideas here, and some real talent to put them into practice, especially when you take into account that the overall goal of Soulkeeper seems to be to create chaos, if these four tracks are anything to go on.

Mayhem. Vigorous, intense, and dangerous, if you like your metalcore to not only sound like it might hurt, but also to have layers of complexities and vibrant (and sometimes baffling) switch ups, then you are in luck because that is what we get here. It’s downright nonsensical at times, stupidly heavy and wild, but also has a ton of effects that are used in obnoxious and unrhythmic fashion a lot of the time. I really didn’t like a lot of it, but there’s also something so fascinating about what Soulkeeper are doing here too that I couldn’t help but listen on, and then listen again, and again.

Experimentation that fascinates, entertains, and leaves an impression. Soulkeeper brought it all here and while it will polarise, it’s going to turn a ton of heads too.
