Fit for an Autopsy – It Comes for You

Prolific metal band Fit for an Autopsy deliver an unrelenting standalone single, perfectly titled ‘It Comes for You’.

Fit for an Autopsy’s Will Putney states:

An aggressive offering from our camp felt like an appropriate response to the current climate of class disparity and political overreach. Sometimes I feel like we’re beating a dead horse over here but it’s important to consistently remind the listener to remain intolerant of such authoritarian rule. Believe it or not, but one day, it comes for you.

They don’t bloody stop, do they!? Not that we’re complaining, right!? After all, they’re one of the modern metal greats and when they let loose, they always deliver gargantuan heaviness, savage ‘core’ infusions, and manic intensity. Guess what? Yep, this is what we get with this meaty and mean effort. A mighty head banger.

Millpool – The Wind

Following the release of ‘High Speed Pursuit’ & ‘Solstice’, jazz-tinged post-hardcore quartet Millpool now lift the lid on their next offering ‘The Wind’, the third single lifted from their forthcoming debut EP ‘One Last Midnight’, due for release in October via XVI Records.

The impact of their genre-bending ways can’t be understated and however ‘weird’ that you might find a song like this, absolutely no-one will be able to deny the brilliance behind it. The raw tinge of post-hardcore, the delicate layering of jazz tones, and the overriding alternative vibe is highly appealing. Check it out here.

The Fear – Suffering

Following their hugely successful sold out UK tour with nu metal originals SNOT, Manchester alt-rock meets nu-metallers The Fear (Dear Superstar, Death Blooms) have revealed their new single, ‘Suffering’. The band are also delighted to be able to announce some headline shows of their own for the end of the year.

The Fear – December 2025 UK Tour Dates

Saturday 6th – Glasgow – The Attic
Thursday 11th – Southampton – Joiners
Saturday 13th – Manchester – Deaf Institute

The Fear’s drummer Benj Ashmead gives some more detail on the inspiration behind their new single Suffering:

The subject of the song came from a quote I stumbled on while doom scrolling — from The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho — about how fear is worse than the thing itself. That really resonated with me, so I decided to explore it from a personal perspective. Suffering is about facing the unknown head-on, because hiding from it is what really hurts.

Groovy and grotty, with a touch of nostalgic nu-vibes mixed in with modern alternative infectiousness, this is a bit of a banger. Especially when the chorus hits. Try as hard as you want, it’s going to get stuck in the head. Check it out here.

Beauty School – Old Rotten Teeth

Yorkshire alt-rock sextet, Beauty School, who recently announced their new album, ‘From Now On, for a October 3rd release on Slam Dunk Records, have released a new single, ‘Old Rotten Teeth’.

Speaking of the single, the band share:

Old Rotten Teeth is a very nostalgic song. A revisitation of life at a simpler time. To be younger, to have less responsibility, to care less. About anything at all.

One of the best modern alternative bands in the world, Beauty School continue their fine form with a nostalgic laden, melody-infused, blast of smile-inducing rock and pop music. It’s the kind of song that everyone can enjoy, and testament to their ability to be so accessible.

What Will Be – Tides

Manchester alt-rock band What Will Be return this autumn with their powerful new single ‘Tides’, out September 12th, 2025. A stirring anthem about owning your mistakes, facing hard truths, and finding strength to carry on.

Lead singer Bram explains:

Tides is about facing yourself honestly — acknowledging your own part in how things turn out, and finding the courage to keep going. It’s about realising life is complicated and imperfect, but there’s beauty in pushing through and making the best of what you have.” Building on the emotional depth of their acclaimed single Singularity, the band once again deliver an evocative, relatable track that blends vulnerability and grit. Tides will be available on all streaming platforms alongside an official music video.

What a clever track this is, easily capturing the imagination with its simple, but powerful alternative catchiness, and then in a stunning shift, synth enters, and the track transforms into something truly special. It is brilliant, and it will make you gasp in wonder. Check it out here.

PREYRS – Zeros, Ones & Lies

PREYRS, a visceral new force in alternative rock and metal, reveal their second ever single, ‘Zeros, Ones & Lies’, out now via Pelagic Records.

An incredibly promising band, where you can hear and see future superstars in the making, and all because tracks like this deliver a potent alternative rock sound that has a sleekness, but isn’t afraid to explore rawer soundscapes too. Not only is it catchy, but it has got depth, both instrumentally and vocally. Pay attention, PREYRS have arrived.

Indecent Behavior – Grown Up

German pop-punk rising stars Indecent Behavior have dropped their new single ‘Grown Up’ – a song about never really growing up. About never fitting in. About staying who you’ve always been and about sharing and experiencing that feeling together.

Says Indecent Behavior singer Henrik Bergmann

Why did I wish to grow up when I was a kid? Now I’m an adult. But what has really changed? Somewhere between tax returns and questions like ‘When are you finally going to grow up?’ one thing is clear: I will never grow up! We’ve gotten older, but deep down, we’re still those pop-punk kids who stand in front of festival stages, who want to travel the world together, who’d do anything for a good time.

It’s less than two minutes of energetic, high-spirited, and hyper-catchy pop punk, delivered with passion and potency, what more do you want to know? It’s a pop punk banger with a nostalgic vein running through it. Simple as that. Check it out here.

Mallavora – Smile

Mallavora, the blazing force in alt-metal, are back with their brand-new single called ‘Smile’, out now and streaming everywhere.

The band explains the important themes behind their latest track…

We wanted to capture the urgency, fury, and righteous rage we feel about how society continues to treat Disabled people. With more music on the horizon, Smile offers a glimpse into the next chapter of Mallavora – how it’s going to sound, and how it’s going to make you feel.

It’s great to have them back, and this new partnership with Church Road Records is sure to be fruitful, especially if this is the calibre of music that Mallavora will be putting out. Heavier, more intense, and more vitriolic than ever, the manic energy of this one is something else, but it is also filled with recognisable Mallavora catchiness, and that is what gets stuck in the head for hours afterwards.

Terzij de Horde – The All-Consuming Work of the Soul’s Foreclosing

Terzij de Horde have released a second new single from their forthcoming LP ‘Our Breath Is Not Ours Alone’ (out October 10th on Church Road Records). It is called ‘’The All-Consuming Work of the Soul’s Foreclosing’.

Says Joost Vervoort (vocals):

Most of the world’s creative energy is constantly expended to keep dominant and destructive systems alive. The injustices of the world are not simply there as inert realities, they require constant complicity from all of us. The All-Consuming Work of the Soul’s Foreclosing deals with this gigantic outpouring of effort to close off the soul and instrumentalize life.

The new album is going to be pretty damn good, right? Filled with blackened vehemence and raw ferocity, this new single is a brutal blast of speed and heaviness delivered with force. Terzij de Horde take an uncompromising approach here, but what makes it special are the layers, which all who let themselves sink into the mire created here, will enjoy unpeeling. Check it out here.

Eville – No Pictures Please

Following a huge summer of standout festival appearances at Reading & Leeds, 2000 Trees and Burn It Down Festival, Brighton’s self-defined “Brat Metal” trio Eville have unveiled their brand-new single, ‘No Pictures Please’. The track is lifted from their debut EP ‘Brat Metal’, set for release on October 17th, 2025.

Speaking of the track, vocalist Eva Sheldrake shares:

We wrote this song as a metaphor for dealing with jealousy, gossip and the people waiting for your downfall. In the track, those people become the paparazzi, while we take on the role of the celebrity trying to escape them. With its Y2K Hollywood aesthetic, flashing cameras, cheering crowds and vivid lyrics, we really wanted to pull listeners into that world.

On course to be one of the big ones, Eville’s latest single is a lot of fun, not just because it is energetic and punchy, but because the lyrics are so enjoyably potent. Venomous in a way, but from a very defiant place and with a lively chorus that everyone can sing along to. Another Eville banger!

Dreamslain – I Am Spartacus

Dreamslain, the epic progressive metal trio from Northern Norway, have released their brand-new single, ‘I Am Spartacus’ in preparation for their upcoming UK tour.

As creative as ever and as unique sounding as always, but finding a more focused side to themselves, this new Dreamslain track is one of the band’s best. Not just because it comes with so much head banging power, progressive insanity, punchy melodies, and more, but because it sounds so driven. Dreamslain can be accused of being a bit of a ‘kitchen sink’ band sometimes, but here, they narrow things down and emphasis what really works for the band. Great vocals, potent riffs, hefty drums, and enigmatic keys, it’s great to hear them progressing. Check it out here.

Urne – Be Not Dismayed

London modern metal band, Urne have announced details of their new studio album, ‘Setting Fire to the Sky’. Produced by SikTh co-vocalist Justin Hill, mixed by Johann Meyer (Silvercord Studio), mastered by Tony Lindstrom at Fascination Street Studio and scheduled for release on January 30th, 2026, via Spinefarm. The announcement is paired with the release of new single, ‘Be Not Dismayed’ which is in part an invitation for younger fans not to be intimidated by the big blokes, battle jackets and patches crowding around them at gigs and festivals.

Says vocslist/bassist Joe Nally:

I wrote the lyrics to ‘Be Not Dismayed’ after spending a few summers playing some of the best metal festivals around and seeing the buzz that fans would have by being there. On people’s faces, you could see they were experiencing pure elation, and I guess it took me back to that feeling I used to have going to shows. I clearly remember the feeling I had when I went to see Slayer for the first time at the London Astoria. I went through it all. In the end, it was the moment that set me on a path to where I am now.

Now a four-piece (additional guitarist) which is giving them a whole richer sound, Urne are back and back with an absolute banger. One with a cacophony of vibrant riffs, a variety of vocal styles that show off Nally’s modern abilities, thick and chunky drumbeats, tons of effervescent melody, a chorus that you can sing along to (and head bang), and a guitar solo that roars. It’s not the most complex song Urne have ever put out (which the album will no doubt deliver on), but it does show off their developed musical palette. Album of the year (2026) contender? When Urne have an album out, it’s almost always a possibility.
