EP Review: PINKNOISE – HUMAN=KIND (Nettwerk)

Rising hard rock and alternative metal artist PINKNOISE will release their debut EP ‘HUMAN=KIND’ on August 15th. The non-binary trailblazer, known for their recent feature on Magnolia Park’s latest album, recently signed to Nettwerk for their debut release, which delves into emotionally complex themes of grief, transition and transformation.

There is a real struggle amongst alternative metal artists these days to stand out from the crowd, especially ones that lean towards genres like metalcore, utilising electronica in heavy ways, and try to genre-bend to, sometimes, confusing results. I mention this because it’s an aspect that could, in most circumstances, hold back an artist like PINKNOISE who isn’t really doing anything that groundbreaking here.

However, and this is really important, that’s fine because this four track EP is exceptional, showcasing the potency that can come from this blending of genres and how an artist who willingly exposes themselves to us can immerse the listener in their world with just a handful of tracks. Four to be exact, four absolute bangers with passion oozing out of each. PINKNOSE has arrived and the rest is about to be history. The future is pink.

Isn’t music so much better when you can feel it!?
