Bloodstock 2025 Band Feature: Thrashist Regime
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! It’s Bloodstock time and 2025 is looking to be one of the best events the festival has ever put on, if we’re judging it by bands… which we are, of course.
Taking place at Catton Park, Derbyshire from August 7th to August 10th, Bloodstock Festival 2025 has not only sold out all its weekend tickets, but it also sold out day tickets for the Saturday and the Sunday and it seems likely that Friday will follow suit before the festival actually starts. Boasting a lineup that includes the likes of Emperor, Lacuna Coil, Ministry, Mastodon, Fear Factory, Static-X, Nailbomb, Kataklysm, Obituary, and headliners, Trivium, Machine Head, Gojira, and so much more spread across four stages, it’s going to be one hell of a weekend.

Thrashist Regime
Formed in Aberdeen, Scotland in 2007, with little thought for the consequences, Thrashist Regime have been proudly upsetting grandparents, annoying neighbours, and generally being a noisy nuisance for a while now. Having worked hard to gain a stellar reputation for intense, heavy, fast, and fun thrashing shows, and for always delivering impressive head banging records.
They released their well-received 2012 debut album ‘Fearful Symmetry’ and followed it up in 2018 with ‘Carnival of Monsters’, a big step forward in most eyes.
Over the years, the band have played across the UK and have supported high profile thrash heroes including Exodus, Death Angel, Xentrix and Acid Reign. Now, a spot on the EMP stage at Bloodstock is calling and it’s time for everyone to get a neck muscle workout. Especially as, if you’re good, you might get to hear a new track as Thrashist Regime has stuff in the works, namely a third album!
Until then, you can catch them on the Saturday of the festival. We spoke to them about what it means to play the festival this year, what Bloodstock overall means to them, and what attendees can expect from their set. This is what they had to say:
Playing Bloodstock means a huge amount to us as a band – we’ve been together for almost 18 years now so finally getting the opportunity to play a real metal festival is just a dream come true really! And not just any metal festival – it’s Bloodstock! A festival where I’ve witnessed a lot of my personal thrash heroes like Forbidden, Kreator, Coroner… It’s honestly just fantastic. A real privilege to be selected. As our name suggests, people should expect a great big dollop of old-school thrash, songs about The A-Team, ants attacking the Antarctic and the zombie apocalypse, as well as at least one pair of extremely exciting shorts. Come and see us, get involved, hopefully we’ll see a pit or two…
