Bloodstock 2025 Band Feature: Speak in Whispers
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! It’s Bloodstock time and 2025 is looking to be one of the best events the festival has ever put on, if we’re judging it by bands… which we are, of course.
Taking place at Catton Park, Derbyshire from August 7th to August 10th, Bloodstock Festival 2025 has not only sold out all its weekend tickets, but it also sold out day tickets for the Saturday and the Sunday and it seems likely that Friday will follow suit before the festival actually starts. Boasting a lineup that includes the likes of Emperor, Lacuna Coil, Ministry, Mastodon, Fear Factory, Static-X, Nailbomb, Kataklysm, Obituary, and headliners, Trivium, Machine Head, Gojira, and so much more spread across four stages, it’s going to be one hell of a weekend.

Speak in Whispers
Speak In Whispers is a progressive groove metal band founded in 2017 in Cyprus. Over the years, they have become a mainstay in the live music scene, earning recognition for their high-energy performances and intricate yet groove-heavy sound.
The band has performed at numerous festivals and shared the stage with renowned acts such as Freak Kitchen, Rage, Poem, Planet of Zeus, Welicoruss, and others. Their reputation as a dynamic live act continues to grow, garnering acclaim for their technical prowess and engaging stage presence.
In 2020, Speak in Whispers independently released their debut EP, ‘The Dark Descent’, showcasing their distinct style and musical depth. Building on this momentum, they then released their highly anticipated full-length album, ‘Crystalline Structures’, on March 28th, 2025, through M&O Music.
Capping off an immense first half of 2025, Speak in Whispers entered the Cyprus leg of Metal 2 the Masses and won, earning their spot at Bloodstock. They play the Sunday of the festival on the Timothy Taylors New Blood stage, and it promises to be a very special show.
How do we know? We asked them what it means to play the festival this year, what Bloodstock overall means to them, and what attendees can expect from their set, and this is what they had to say:
For us, playing Bloodstock this year is a massive opportunity and an honour. It’s our first time hitting that stage, and honestly, it’s something we’ve had our sights on for a long time. Bloodstock has always been that one festival we looked at and thought, “Yeah, that’s where we belong.” The energy, the crowd, the whole vibe — it’s exactly the kind of chaos we thrive in. The Bloodstock crowd gets heavy music. They’re there for the riffs, the raw emotion, the honesty — and that’s everything Speak in Whispers is about. This is more than just a show to us. It’s a chance to connect with the right audience, to grow with the scene we love, and to prove that we’re not here to play it safe — we’re here to make a dent.
It’s always stood as a goalpost — the kind of stage you dream about when you’re grinding it out in tiny clubs. It’s where the real ones go. Pure, honest, heavy music and a community that lives and breathes it.
What makes it even more special is how much Bloodstock does for up-and-coming bands. They’ve always backed young talent and given newer voices a real platform — not just a token slot, but a real shot to be heard. That kind of support means everything when you’re fighting to carve out your place in the scene. It’s the kind of place where bands go from underground to undeniable, and we’re showing up to leave our mark.
Expect groove. Expect weight. Expect riffs that hit like a sledgehammer but still make your head move. We’re bringing a set that blends heaviness with a progressive edge — big dynamic shifts, textured layers, and moments that pull you in before knocking you sideways. It’s not just about going full blast the whole time — we want the set to breathe, to tell a story, but also to make sure no neck leaves unbroken.
