Bloodstock 2025 Band Feature: Theocracide

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! It’s Bloodstock time and 2025 is looking to be one of the best events the festival has ever put on, if we’re judging it by bands… which we are, of course.

Taking place at Catton Park, Derbyshire from August 7th to August 10th, Bloodstock Festival 2025 has not only sold out all its weekend tickets, but it also sold out day tickets for the Saturday and the Sunday and it seems likely that Friday will follow suit before the festival actually starts. Boasting a lineup that includes the likes of Emperor, Lacuna Coil, Ministry, Mastodon, Fear Factory, Static-X, Nailbomb, Kataklysm, Obituary, and headliners, Trivium, Machine Head, Gojira, and so much more spread across four stages, it’s going to be one hell of a weekend.

Theocracide

Hailing from Leeds, West Yorkshire, Theocracide bring thrash, hardcore, and death noise, combining new wave of thrash influences such as Warbringer, Evile and Havok with a dose of crossover/hardcore from bands like Drain and Mindforce. They’ve been around since 2023, gigging away, but it was 2024 when they solidified their line-up, transforming into a 4-piece band.

Since then, the band has continued to tear up the UK metal scene, performing with the likes of Godeth and Kilonova, and releasing their debut single, ‘‘Neutralise the Predator’ in June 2024. They’ve since released two more singles called ‘Warning Of The Serpent’ and ‘Spontaneous Human Combustion’, and this year (2025) they entered Bloodstock’s Metal 2 the Masses competition, winning the Leeds event and booking their place at the iconic festival.

If that wasn’t enough, they will be dropping a new single before the festival, and as well as already having more shows lined up later in the year, and are working hard on a crossover split EP with Sheffield’s Hatebomb from Sheffield.

It’s going to be an immense showing at Bloodstock and you can catch Theocracide on the New Blood stage on the Sunday of the festival. We asked them what it means to play the festival this year, what Bloodstock overall means to them, and what attendees can expect from their set. This is what they shared in response:

It’s still so surreal that we are playing Bloodstock 2025. It definitely feels like validation for all the late-night rehearsals and hard work we’ve put into the band. It’s also really exciting for the future as we really want this to be the start of something really cool. So many bands we know and love have been given this opportunity by M2TM and it’s so cool that we get to follow in their footsteps.

I’ve been going to Bloodstock since I was 15 and only missed 1 in that time. It’s such an integral part of my year and my life as a metalhead. The people are the best at any festival I’ve ever been to and I’ve made so many friends who I get to reunite with every year. It’s basically a huge community rather than a festival. It’s honestly the highlight of my year every year without fail. – Ben (vocalist/ guitar)

You can expect Theocracide to smash your face with super speed old-school thrash riffs and new-school crossover breakdowns. It’s kinda like if Kreator and Pest Control had a baby. If you like circle pits, 2-stepping or just good old moshing then definitely come down to the show. LEEDS THRASH UP YOUR ASS MOTHER FUCKER!
