Bloodstock 2025 Band Feature: The Cartographer
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! It’s Bloodstock time and 2025 is looking to be one of the best events the festival has ever put on, if we’re judging it by bands… which we are, of course.
Taking place at Catton Park, Derbyshire from August 7th to August 10th, Bloodstock Festival 2025 has not only sold out all its weekend tickets, but it also sold out day tickets for the Saturday and the Sunday and it seems likely that Friday will follow suit before the festival actually starts. Boasting a lineup that includes the likes of Emperor, Lacuna Coil, Ministry, Mastodon, Fear Factory, Static-X, Nailbomb, Kataklysm, Obituary, and headliners, Trivium, Machine Head, Gojira, and so much more spread across four stages, it’s going to be one hell of a weekend.

The Cartographer
For over a decade, the five-piece unit that is The Cartographer has been channelling their combined passion & love for music into a spine shattering embodiment of modern deathcore. Expressing emotions that derive from personal life experiences, struggles, trauma and the ability to remind every listener that you’re not alone in your battles. Raw, aggressive, and intense, The Cartographer’s music isn’t straight-forwardly deathcore either as the band pull from a broad scope of influences resulting in something that sticks in the mind.
Their first EP, ‘Human Error’ was released in 2017, which was also roughly the time they solidified their line-up. Followed by Mind Atlas in 2021, a slew of singles in 2022 and 2023 (Fiend, Vices, Misery System, Red Tape), all of which would make up the majority of 2023’s EP, The Cold Black (the fifth song being Deathbed).
Alongside all this studio content, the band have graced many stages from performing at UK Tech Metal Fest & MacMillan Fest to supporting bands such as Loathe, Hacktivist & King 810.
They’re a band who never seem to stop and as well as a plethora of live shows in place, we can hopefully expect to see their debut album at some point this year.
It’s all very exciting, and we can’t wait to see them cause some carnage on the New Blood stage on the Sunday of the festival. We asked them what it means to play the festival this year, what Bloodstock overall means to them, and what attendees can expect from their set. This is what they had to say:
We are incredibly grateful to be given the opportunity to play this years festival. It’s the biggest we’ve ever done and to be part of such a massive line up, is honestly an honour.
Getting booked to play Bloodstock is a really big moment for us, it’s a festival we’ve grown up around being from Derby ourselves and its always been one we’ve dreamt of playing for a long time. It’s an incredible feeling to finally say we are part of it and ready to show everyone what we are about!
Expect a wall of riffs, aggressive vocals and alot of energy. We pride ourselves in giving 100% at every show, but this bloodstock performance we plan to take things upto 150%, new music, new set and a new age for The Cartographer…..We hope to see you there.
