EP Review: Midnight Feature – Creeping Fear, Raging Monsters Vol 1 (Self Released)
Horror punk and goth rock band, Midnight Feature will release their debut EP, ‘Creeping Fear, Raging Monsters Vol 1’ on June 23rd! A 5-track odyssey covering everything from blood rituals to Jeffrey Dahmer’s prom date.
Now this is fun! Midnight Feature rock, and rock hard, but also throw in a hefty helping of horror punk intensity and gothic wickedness. Delivering tongue in cheek horror with a collection of body shaking and head banging efforts. First, with the raucous Vampires and Other Creatures. Then, with the raw and infectious foot-tapper that is Night of the Demon. Before along comes Saturday Night Fever Dream to get the dead up and moving.
Is that body parts falling off? Who cares! The dance floor is full, and everyone is having fun and there might be no track that showcases this better than Damned If You Do (Dahmer’d If You Don’t). This track, aside from being very infectious, shows of the strengths of this band and how they are not just another Misfits ‘tribute’ band.
Finally, it’s Rite Here and Midnight Feature keep the catchiness of their rocking, punk-tinged, sound front and centre, ensuring this debut EP goes out in riotous fashion. A really enjoyable end to a really enjoyable EP.
