EP Review: Paradis – Ouroboros (Self Released)

Formed in 2022, Paradis are a 5-piece modern metal band hailing from London, UK. Since arriving on the metal scene, they’ve not stopped, and now they unleash their newest EP, ‘Ouroboros’ on June 20th, 2025.

What a powerhouse band Paradis have already become, and even though they’ve already released a banger self-titled EP, this new record sounds bigger and bolder. A major component of this is the more notable accessible edge that sits nicely alongside their intense technical heaviness, giving us huge tracks like the title track. An opening anthem that sets a really high bar for Paradis.

Thankfully, they are a very talented band so its a bar they can reach time and time again as their brand of modern metal gives butterflies. Especially when it comes in form of crunching and chaotic sounding efforts like Terraform. Or when it comes in the form of creative blasts of savagery like Void. This is the stuff that demands heads be banged and it’s hard to deny the pull. Paradis’ instrumental heft is only matched by vocals that alternate between destructive demonic roars and gurgling screams. It’s knee-trembling stuff.

Finally, it’s The End and a more experimental side of Paradis, the beginning of the track delivering vibrant and energised electronica, before it explodes in brash style. The heaviness of this band on garish display, but perfectly paired with a chorus that soars, especially the clean singing in it. It’s a big finish, one that gets daringly cinematic, and compliments everything that came before.

Four tracks, four absolute bangers, and four more reasons to love this band.
