Inmate Zero aka Patients of a Saint is an infection horror movie set in a ‘death row’ prison on a small isolated island. Directed by Russell Owen, who co-wrote the story with Matthew J. Gunn, it stars Jess Chanliau, Raymond Bethley, Jane Garda, Jennifer Joseph, and Philip McGinley.
Directed by Francesco Giannini, Hall is a contagion-based horror with dramatic elements surrounding domestic abuse and controlling behaviour. It stars Julian Richings, Carolina Bartczak, Yumiko Shaku, and Vlasta Vrana.
From an idea by Juma Fodde, and a story by Gustavo Hernández, who also directed it, Virus: 32 is an outbreak/infected Argentinian horror movie that owes a lot to 28 Days/Weeks Later.
Written and directed by D.M. Cunningham, The Spore shares much in common with anthology horror movies even though it isn’t one.
A hidden gem, The Hive is a graphic ‘infection’ horror movie directed by David Yarovesky who co-wrote it with Will Honley.
Dys- is a 2014 horror movie written and directed by Maude Michaud. Starring Shannon Lark and Alex Goldrich as an estranged couple forced to barricade themselves inside their apartment when a disease begins to spread throughout their city.
Racoon Valley is an effective movie that slowly builds in horror as we share the loneliness and isolation of the main character. It has a hopelessness about it but is surprisingly engaging.
