GamerGurl (Aileigh Karson) is a YouTuber who plays scary games live on stream to show her genuine reactions. She’s got a new one to share with her audience, a beta for Something Scary.
Looking cheaply made & relying on jump scares. It gives GamerGurl exactly what she is looking for. That is until she receives a call from the games developer. He informs her that the version she has isn’t actually working properly.
No spoilers as Something Scary is all about it’s payoff,. One that delivers being gleefully creepy & effective. Cleverly written, it’s limited environment really turns the tension up. Aileigh Karson does great in her role of annoying YouTuber faced with something that is actually scary.
That it is so easy to forget you’re watching a short & not in fact watching an actual stream is credit to everyone involved. For such a short run time it pulls you in & leaves you feeling desperately uncomfortable. Check it out yourself below.
